  • Valiant Concepts EDC Key Chain Pens

The Valiant Concept Key Chain Pens are made by one of EDCF's talented members. This pen virtually vanishes on a keychain and the build quality is excellent.

These pens feature a custom Fisher cartridge smaller than in any other pen. They come in stainless steel and soon again in titanium. I highly recommend using these with a McGizmo 20mm or 25mm clip. While clips size preference will vary I favor the 20mm with these, I think the 15mm is just too small for this.

You will never know it's there until you need it.

Valiant Concepts Stainless Steel EDC Pen

CNC Machined from solid stainless bar stock, the Valiant Concepts Stainless Steel Keychain Pen features a pressurized Fisher(c) ink cartridge and is operated by simply twisting the tail to expose the writing tip. 100% made in the USA.

    General information:

Size: .25" diameter by 2.5" long

Weight: .38oz (with split ring attached)

I have a couple of these pens (in titanium, though the stainless ones are basically just as unobtrusive). In fact, I think discovering these pens in a web search was what led me to this forum originally, and from there a whole world of keychain tools and much more.

I can not express how excellent these pens are. They are weightless, invisible and omnipresent. With the fisher refills they are basically the ultimate indestructible waterproof backup pen. These are among the top 5 titanium keychain/EDC tools I have ever discovered. Everyone who reads this forum should have one on their keychain (after I get the next available titanium one, ideally).

This pen has never saved my life but it has come in very handy at times. I cannot count the times I needed a pen and there was not one to be found. Then I quickly remember, I have one on my keychain.

After you purchase one, two or three, you will wonder how you ever got along without it.

I have the stainless version and will be ordering one in Ti soon.

I have the SS version, I use it frequently, it rides on my keychain for some months now, so it's always there when I need it.

Beautiful masterpiece, I recommend it to everyone!

I have the ti version - so light that I don't even know it's on my keychain. Writes very well.

I have three versions of this pen, both stainless and titanium old versions and the current version (stainless). The new one is in my keychain. I find the added length makes a big difference in use, while the overall package still remains extremely compact. It's not the cheapest keychain pen out there, but the quality is excellent, and it will last you a lifetime. Not to mention that it's a unique item, not "just another pen". Well worth the price.

Stainless is back in stock as well as the old style ink for the older version.

I received my Valiant Concepts Stainless Steel Pen today; the quality, size, and design are at least as impressive as I expected. It really is top-notch construction.

The size is deceiving. I knew it was smaller and lighter than my Inka, but I didn't realize how much so. Yet, like magic, it's large enough for me to comfortably write with. The height is perfect, for me. For quick notes, I can leave it on my keychain, which will rest on the back of my hand as I write. Of course, for more extended writing, I remove the keychain via the McGizmo clip I ordered with the pen.

I wouldn't want to write multiple pages with it, but that's not what a keychain pen is for. I believe if I had to use it for extended writing, it would work well.

This is the only pen I've ever owned that I feel may truly last a lifetime - and I've owned many expensive pens.

I've only had this pen a few hours, but I know good design, and I do not hesitate to say that this is the highest quality keychain pen that has ever been produced.

Any ETA on a Ti version?

Can I put in a request for one that takes Zebra f-301/f-701 refills

Right now it's looking like the titanium version is about a month out, if everything goes as planned.

There are no immediate plans for a pen with a Zebra cartridge, but after the titanium keychain pens are rolling again I'm hoping to start working on a slightly larger version, or a "pocket" pen if you will. Maybe something using a universal cartridge.

One month? Fan tastic! I'll keep an eye out.

So the TI is on the website and measures 2.25". So is this the old version or are the new ones out? And this line confuses me as well "These pens feature a custom Fisher cartridge smaller than in any other pen". I thought the new longer pens no longer needed a customer cartridge and why they were being made longer. Any clarification on these would be welcome. Thanks Jon!

These are the new version and will take the new style cartridge. Basically, the old version of the pens required that the cartridge be modified prior to use, whereas the new style pens have been altered so as to accept the cartridge without modification.
So basically, the cartridges themselves are the same, the old pens just required the cartridge to be trimmed down slightly to fit.

And yes, the Titanium pens are finally back in stock

It is from Lee Valley. $9.95/Dozen. Reasonable and enough to share!

Since the titanium VC pens are now "out / rolling again", any ETA on when we will see this "pocket" version / larger size pen? I'd definitely be in for this. Hopefully, by universal cartridge you mean a universal Fisher refill size and not some other brand of ink cartridge. Right? We (or maybe it's just me) love Fisher ink cartridges.
