Ok Here it is the long awaited and anticipated Stormtracker's Edc Gear " The Looter" Bag. I thought "The Looter" Would be a cool name for this one. :D :lolhammer:
Awhile back I had created a thread asking what people would want in a tactical shopping bag. I received alot of feedback and since then have been slowly developing it in between my other duties of getting the Unikit into my faithful EDCF customers hands.
I am not ready to start taking orders on these just yet.
I'm trying to play catch up on a few more orders as many here have been waiting longer than I anticipated.
I hired a seamstress to help me part time. Well she didn't work out and she has some material and stuff I had her helping me with. I can't for the life of me figure out why. Me and my wife had her over and visited with her and out of the applicants she seemed the best. I taught her how to sew the Unikit while my wife made us a steak dinner etc.. .. I basically high rolled her and agreed to pay her what she asked on them per piece. Anyways now she is missing in action and wont reply to my calls etc... :(
So I had to switch back to filling orders on the Unikit.
Anyways I wanted to show you guys the prototype I came up with for the tactical shopping/ nicknamed: "The Looter"
I would like to try and gauge some interest so that I know how many to cut out etc.
By hiring this lady i mentioned above my intent was to narrow the turn around time on my products for folks here. So Im kind of dumbfounded by my mis-fortune with her and kind of feel like I'm back to square one and overwhelmed again.
All that aside.
So any feedback on the Looter Bag.. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for all the support guys.
And those of you that have been waiting on the Unikit, i am working on it and hope to have the majority of them out come the end of next week, just so you know.

Here it is deployed. One of the pieces of feedback I took into consideration were the handles that folded in. I incorporated that on this bag.

Pic 2
An inside shot. I received feedback and requests for an interior pocket to use when deployed for wallet, cell phone etc. Also you can see that I put some loop velcro inside the bag so you can stow the the main flap closure out of the way if you want to use the bag open. Also notice the handles go the entire span of the bag. This is to give it strength. It is way Heavy Duty. I placed 2 35# dumbells in it with no issues. I bet I could fit 4 times that weight in it and it not tear.

Pic 3
Here it is folded. Fits in a coat pocket! :) Also that same flap can be used inside open as pictured above or can go on the outside of the bag to close it in the deployed position which is not pictured. I included a Grimlock to attach keys to or what have you when using it. Also it can be used to attach to a pack etc... when folded and closed.

Anyways, there it is. Hope you like it. Look forward to hearing thoughts on this project.
Off to bed I go... I been up for 20 hours now.... geeessshhhh

that's really cool, Stormtraker!
how about some rough size dimensions? deployed and stowed...
I'm guessing closed (by the size of the grimlock) that folded up it would be in the 6"x5"x2" range?
BTW - I really like the loop the Grimlock is in...a biner, zip tie, anything could go thru there as well, allowing for lots of ways to keep the bag close that way.
wonderfully "overbuilt" ;D

Looks awesome, I should pick one up for my mum dependent on price.
Incidentally, I can't imagine any other place where a shopper bag would be 'tactical'!

Oh yeah. I could see having a couple of those attached to My EDC. I had planned on keeping a couple of the regular shopping bags folded up in the bottom of my pack for those spur of the moment shopping trips. But those look so much better and definitely more durable.
Excellent for the Urban EDC'er!

Looks great. Feedback- for heavy loads padded handles are a great thing. I use a Tom Bihn tote and its a feature that assists.
Are you envisioning any pads etc?

what colors you gonna offer?
Hey Bushman.
I have material already cut out for CT and Black. Hopefully I will be adding foilage soon. Depends on requests for that color. In reference to padded handles, I built the handles using 1.5" webbing. So the standard one wont have padded handles. I would consider adding them as a custom item. I haven't settled on the overall price yet. What I do know is I have about $8 worth of material in it not including CC processing fees and labor. So sometimes as a manufacturer you need to develop a product around costs as opposed to just developing products without taking the end costs into consideration.
My concern on the handles as a production item is the cost issue. That would probably add - $10 and extra bulk. Again though I may have a solution to that on a case by case basis.
Anyways thansk for the feedback guys. I'm not sure that there is alot of interest but maybe some light to moderate interest. Hmmmmmm.

O0 Stormtracker,
Another Great Job at adding Innovated Improvements to an all round favorite universal tool!!
My only suggestions are...
Adding a large padded handle, the type that have velcro to open and close to hold both straps together...
And leaving the straps a little on the longer side so you can slide your arm thru and hang the bag on your shoulder using the nice big padded handle...Just my two cents worth.
Just for you to think about...multi cam and urban cam for color choices options??
As for the handles...I think they are worth the investment...I know I pack a lot in the bags I use...and those little straps are not that comfortable in hand or on shoulder!!!

I might be able to do Multicam at a premium. Alot of material goes into this one. It wont be a production item though. If anyone wants Multicam they would need to contact me and request it specifically.
Another poster here requested the dimensions closed. Well that lady I talked about in the first post has it so I cant answer that yet. >:(

So. . . .I dunno what a "tactical" shopping bag is. . .but this fold-up bag looks great. My wife and I keep re-useable shopping bags in both our vehicles. They don't stay folded and end up flopping all around in the trunk. The looter looks excellent. I love that I could fold it up and keep it in my EDC bag until needed.
Thanks Stormtracker.

When you can, dimensions would be helpful- personally, I'm hoping it's 12.5" wide. That way I could carry LP's in it in addition to groceries.
And while I know that's not going to be a common use, it's one I like.
Hot stuff. I might be in for a few- prices?

Looks great. I would buy at least one, for me, maybe a few more for others. I like the design as it stands, with the edge tape and straps being a slightly different color than the main material (I think it blends in better, looks less tactical while still being subdued). I would offer all black, also, as some people would I'm sure prefer that. I say no on the padded handles: if you're carrying heavy stuff far, get a real bag. This one is for leaving in a pocket, when you won't need a real bag, just in case, or in your edc bag, for when you just pick up a few groceries or library books or gym clothes or something. I do agree that the handles need to be large enough to slip over a man's shoulder and carry under the arm: I hate not having my hands free. Last thought: have you considered putting the nylon webbing on the outside? I think the color contrast would make it even more inconspicuous. Love the use of the grimloc.

how long are the handles? Over the shoulder or grocery bag style? Over the shoulder would make that bag great for carrying bulk stuff up and down ladders...

I wonder if there is a nice handle length balance that would suit both over the shoulder and carrying the bag down at your side.

Ok, These are going up for sale in the marketplace tonight. There will be around a 3 week wait and I will limit the number sold to 20 so I can keep up. After I have a good grasp and head start on getting these finished and out I will re open orders for another 20.
Sound good? Im trying to keep people from having to wait for so long for their products. I have a large set of orders going out on the unikits Monday or Tuesday and I will be mostly caught up with everyone that has ordered outside of the last 2 or 3 weeks.
I think the price on the looter will be fair. Stand by for me to post in the custom section and I will put it in the cart on the site.
Thanks guys

oops,
Measuring 13" x 14" x 7" = 1274 cubic inches it also folds up to carry in a pocket @ 5" x 5.5" x 2". I posted a for sale thread in Custom but it has a bug I need Jon to work out before the software will let me post it.
Im limiting the first run to 20 pieces right now so that I dont get so far behind. My reasoning is I dotn want customers to have to wait so long for their products.
They are up at the shopping cart now. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Looters are back in the storefront. I bumped the price a little from the introductory price to accommodate for my time and material costs. They are still at a bargain price for what your getting. Im getting awesome feedback on these.
Fred
Guys-
I picked up a couple of these and I gotta say they are solid! Its a great additional carry bag for all the stuff I pickup on my way out of the house, the other hand being used to carry another bag. (Tom Bihn)
(I cant imagine how many pounds of potato salad one could fit in this- if anyone conducts experiments and takes photoes, Ill PP them the cost of the first pound!)
