Maybe we should consider putting the logo on the Titanium model. That may draw some interest.

How big is a Euro Note.

How big is a Euro Note.
Depends, they increase in size as the value goes up. The smallest is the 5 euro note, which is 120 x 62 mm or 4.72 x 2.44 inches. 20 euro note is 133 x 72 mm or 5.24 x 2.83 inches. For the others, see here (http://www.euro.gov.uk/eurobanknotes.asp).
EDIT: ok, I looked up the size of the dollar bill, too. 66.3 mm (2.61") wide, 156.0 mm (6.14") long. So the closest match would be a 10 euro note, which is about the same width (67 mm), but more than an inch shorter (127 mm).

I would be interested in one.
I just bought two of these from sunshine. I was going to keep one and give one to my friend, but I'll just give the other to my wife.
Sunshine

Anybody that has has a Cash-Can or reads here about them knows that a dollar is rather snug. These are really compact. Anything larger than the single bill will not fit. We now have a two bill size though that would work with at least one Euro of any size.
We are working on a sample EDC engraved one and may be able to post a pic later today.

Is the engraving going to add to the price or will these be normal price?
Also does it come with directions on how to fold the bill?

Cash-Cans with the EDC logo will be available for purchase from Jon's' store. Each Cash-Can comes with a folded 'funny-money' bill which we label as 'folding instructions'. The unit is packaged in a tiny velveteen drawstring bag complete with a nice stainless key ring.

Couple of questions here! So, how many American Dollar Bills can it hold? Will it have to folded over? Price?
Couple of comments here! The engraving looks great Sunshine, engraver you ARE. I'm all for brass and stainless steel.

This model is the Mini Cash-Can which holds one US dollar folded in thirds long ways then rolled or folded onto the spindle. By request and popular demand we now make a Mini II, the next generation, which will hold two US bills.
Thanks for the comments!

That looks awesome! I think you have a best-seller there. I'll definitely take two or more.
Also, I didn't realize how tiny they are - even better.

The engraved cans are +2.00 over what Sunshine is selling the regular ones at. Hey, engraving costs a little more ;D
That would make them 19.95 and 23.95.
JonSidneyB
03-07-2009, 01:17 AM
Sunshine just told me that this will extend to everything they sell. The edcf engraved version is 2.00 more.
One thing. If you combine it with other stuff to reash 90.00 on the store shipping is free. ;D
You support the forum, and you get more stuff. :knuppel2:

Jon,
If you take orders for the Cash-Cans, we will drop ship the first few direct to the customer at no charge to you or the customer. Cost is a flat $19.95 for the mini and $23.95 for the mini II. I think when the members receive the engraved product, it will become quite popular. Worth a try!
Thanks,
Sunshine

Hey everybody, I just received a message from Jon and he plans to make these available thru his store today sometime. I'm shipping a batch of mini brass to him on Wednesday. He will be shipping these direct from his store. I'm sorry if I've confused anybody.
If you are planning to buy one of these in the Mini II size or a Mini with aluminum housing, please post here so that I can make sure to ship everything together on Wednesday.
Thanks,

I received mine the other day really good looking and well made. I especially liked how the rounded top of the can is actually machined not pressed formed like a soda can.
The only thing I would do to improve it is add a slot to the center pin to help roll on the bills to make them more compact with tension. But the size I don't know if it is possible.
Really good job I would recommend it. :roof:

Thanks for the comments Jester. Look at the 'funny money' that was inside. If you fold the bill instead of trying to roll it around the spindle it is a bit easier. I actually learned that from reading reviews from the very first customers here on EDCF.
And yes, both components are machined from solid bar stock and not rolled, formed, or fabricated.

Yeah, my grandparents like to gamble (like slots, cards) so we usually give them cash in a cool way. For example, we've made cash trees, and we've bought puzzles where you put the cash inside and have to solve to remove the bill. This will be neat.

My Mini-II arrived this week (thanks Jon!) - very nice attention to detail with o-rings at each end and a simple foolproof way to keep it closed until you really need to get into it. The engraving is great. Will be loading it up with $$ this weekend. Now I need another keyring for all the cool-tools I've accumulated since discovering this forum! Thank goodness it's hard to win an Atwood lottery .. or I wouldn't have anything left to put in my cash-can.
Jon,
Any idea when these will be back in stock? Or am i missing something? Looking for the regular EDCF engraved Mini cash can...
