From an earlier discussion, it has come to light that there are at least 3 of us in the North California area. More specifically between SF and Sac. An Olive Garden seems popular due to unlimited salads and breadsticks. Who in? Post where you live, how far you are willing/able to travel and good days/times you are able to meet.

I'll start. I am in Citrus Heights (Suburb of Sacramento) I can travel to most of the Northen parts of the Bay Area such as SF, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek. Right now any days except Tuesday are doable. Preferred meeting times between 10-4ish, a little later if closer to Sac.

Salad and breadsticks notwithstanding, and despite not having any private transportation, I'd like to get in on this. I'm in Sonoma County--Rohnert Park to be exact--but I've got people in SF and could get down there easily enough by bus. My schedule is going to be dominated by family stuff for a while, but I'll surely have some time to get down that way. I'll post an update when things get more concrete.

I'm very interested in something like this. My only issue is that living in San Francisco, I don't own a car.. So I can only get around by train, bus, and walking for the most part.

San Jose here. I can be anywhere in the Bay Area, but weekends are much more preferable to me...

Antioch, here. I might show up if not working (gotta love 12 hour rotating shifts!)

There is a remote chance I could make it, but with my schedule it is not likely. But pick a date/time and I'll try. I'm in Pleasanton.

Count me in too (depending on date/time and work schedule--weekends best right now). I could likely give a lift to others in the San Francisco area north to Marin/Sonoma (inlaws in Rohnert Park) or south to San Jose-ish. I currently live in the Inner Sunset district but enjoy traveling a bit. Ryan (swordscholars@yahoo.com)

Depends on time/date, but I'd try and go as well. I live in Tracy / work in the city so pretty much anywhere in fine with me.

I would be interested as well, my schedule is tight but I would be interested in it.

Well, looks like I'll be missing this one! Two weeks' leave is NOT enough to see even family, let alone friends and close-by forums folk.

I hope you all are able to get this one off the ground, and that you have a good time. :)

I apologize for not following this thread as close as I should have....

There seems to be a fair amount of interest involved. The bay area seems to be somewhat in the middle for most of us. Going from the Olive Garden websites, they have 4 locations in that area.

SF, Vallejo, Hayward, Palo Alto.

Any thoughts?

Have we started setting any time frames yet, so that some of us can start adjusting out schedules, not trying to be pushy.

El Verbo did you see the message I wrote on the back of your envelope.

Right now, I am available most weekends in April and May. Other then that, no one mentioned a time frame.

Hi guys,
I'm a *** from the Bay Area, and would be fun to hook-up!
Some of my fellow knife nutts do M&Gs on a regular basis at Tomodachi's Sushi Bistro in Hayward...they have 3 Tatami rooms that we reserve away from the GP, and we have a great time. Plus, they have great sushi and steaks, and their own house Red Ale!!
Anyway, I'll keep an eye on this thread.

What a better way to spend my 1000th Post.

How about this? Let's give us all about two months heads-up. Just let me know. The weather's getting better, too!

The Japanese restaurant sounds cool, but how about a buffet restaurant?

As far as location, I am pretty flexible, but keep in mind that my pal chutes may have a ways to drive!

1000 post, holy , that is rad and committed to the cause.

Thanks for looking out for me, like I said my schedule is tight but I would dig actually getting to meet up.

I like El Verbo's idea of a buffet, maybe one that has a bigger table or seperate room, with the economy in the crapper, I have been finding people going out of their way to make sales, especially if they could know starting the day they have X number of people coming in at once.

Cant wait to see more of this unfold

Giving this a bump to see if there was ever anything that happened or to re-start the idea/thread.

I'm in Central CA.

I've not followed this thread (or, sadly, EDCF) in some time, but would still be interested. My email is public on these forums so if anything comes of this, please drop me a line!
