My family and I will be flying to Disney World in November and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience traveling with the Gerber Solstice? It is a folding pair of scissors with flat and philips screw drivers, a bottle opener and a can opener. It is well under the 4 inch requirement for the scissors, but do you think the can opener will be a problem? I got it specifically because it does not have a knife blade on it and I haven't flown since they changed all the rules about knives. I can't stand the thought of not having a knife on me since I have had one in my pocket for the past 34 years.
Here's what it looks like if you haven't seen one. http://www.multitool.org/gerber/keychain-tools/gerber-solstice.html
So, what do you think?

Don't know about the requirements on the tool itself. You may have to do what I did the last time I traveled. As soon as I got there I went to the closest store and bought a cheapo knife to use then drop before travel back home.

Why did you do this as opposed to putting a good (but probably not []expensive[/i]) knife into your checked bag?
I have an ideological objection to buying a knife at my destination knowing it will be discarded before my return home. That just grates on every sensibility that I have. >:(
All because what -- some bureaucrats figured out that this will reassure people and make them "feel safer"?

I am not sure the Solstice will or will not make it. There was a post a while back where someone tried to fly with a Leatherman Knifeless Fuse but was unable to do so because of the can opener. Given the size of the Solstice; however, if you put it in a carry-on bag before you go through security it might be overlooked. Please understand I am not saying to hide it, but rather not bring attention to it. And as always, carry a prepaid shipping envelope so you can mail it back to yourself if it cannot go through security.
I carry a Wenger Swiss Clipper AT when I fly. It has scissors, micro screwdriver, nail clippers, and a nail file. It's not a beefy tool I can torque on but it does handle a lot of issues which may come up when traveling: loose eyeglass screw, opening a purchase, etc. When I carry it, I put it in one of my Tactical Wallet pockets. When I get to security I put the wallet in a bin with my bag, shoes, and whatever else they make you remove now. It has never caused concern.

Had to do what I had to do to carry a knife. My bags were searched "randomly" and I almost missed my flight. I needed a knife and got one for $1 when I got there. Didn't bother me to do it. I NEVER go anywhere without one. This might seem like giving in, but at least I got to carry my knife.

Thanks for the replies. I plan on packing my current edc knive in the checked bag, but I really would like to have something in my pocket. I know the scissors from the solstice will be fine, but I have the feeling that the pesky can opener will make it a no-go.

You are correct in your final thoughts-my two cents is don't even think about boarding your flight with a Gerber Soltice. I just flew from Europe to the US 2 months ago, and I had to check-in a 2" pair of foldable scissors. This held me up and pi**ed off everyone behind me in line. No problems with an Atwood Prybaby though.
