A couple new toothpicks! #13 and #14 are closer to being "monchromatic", with only a slight variation in the coloring. (I like how the copper color turned out)

I keep on checking this thread and every time I do I can't help noticing number 12.
It's just beautiful. Look at that gradient! I can't believe no one bought it yet.
I have to put an end to that. If you ship to Europe, I'll take it.
I'll have a hard time to justify spending $25 in a toothpick...

Yes, it's still available and I do in fact ship to Europe. The color that came out on #12 has been one of my favorites so far.

do you have any pics of the natural finished ones? for some reason, the anodized pics in the first thread doesn't seem to do well on my monitor here at work.

Hey, you guys buying toothpicks, please come visit my thread on Toothpick FOB's. I have a few takers, but we need a few more to cover the costs.
I have a sketch of the proposed design to hold two of DB's 2.5" picks. Expanding the thumbnail doesn't seem to work that well, at least on my computer. You may have to save the .pdf to see the detail.

I'd like a non anodized one next week, too, if available.

Thanks Sgt! By the way, I made a neighbor freak out last night with that 623. We both were out back looking for another neighbor's dog, I had a surefire 6p with a malkoff in it, and he was amazed at the "unbelievable brightness," as compared to the plastic 2D he was holding. I handed him the 623 that I "just so happened" to have brought along (with the Fivemega throwmaster on it!) and told him to point it away from his face. He almost dropped it like it had a kick! Like when the mean guy at the range handed me a .45-70 chambered revolver ( I think it was a Magnum Industries BFR or some such)....
Sgt. LED

The Mag623 is so much fun. I think EDCF is now winning my time over CPF, 1 big reason is the New replies to your posts feature.

Yes, using it as an actual toothpick is on the bottom of the duty list for my own personal piece. It makes a great little marlinespike, to be sure. :)

Well, I didn't get them completely done today because of several interruptions, but they're close. This weekend for sure.
Man, does that sound familiar! I know this is OT, but I just wanted to chime in with some commiseration. :) It is hard to wait for stuff you want to buy, but in the case of these little hand-made goodies, the guy/gal making them is not in business. We do this stuff as a hobby, and the money from selling them goes to buy more tools, knives, etc. As a hobby, it takes a back seat to the rest of our lives - Job, family, homes, etc.
So let me say this - These toothpicks are very cool, and worth the wait!
Get 'em done when ya can, DB...
Just added a couple new Ti toothpicks! I know several people have made a few requests for more recently, and I've had these on the workbench for a couple weeks now. Just finished the anodizing today, and will have a few more ready by tonight hopefully.

DB, that dual ring glowing toothpick is very nice.
I took my Ti toothpick and delrin sheath on a couple of flights now. I'm glad that toothpicks are not restricted items.
The glowpowder mod is an excellent and practical addition. Good stuff!

How would they have known you had it? Did you show it to them? Ti won't set off a metal detector in a small quantity like this.

I've never really used my "toothpick" heavily as an actual toothpick. It's more of a multipurpose tool. How many times have you needed a little too to poke, scrape, prod, pick at, or puncture something?

I carry mine tucked away in my wallet. You can see it poking out halfway in this picture.

I ship them in a little clear tube that can be used to carry them also, which themselves fit nicely in a steel toothpick case that can found on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180135093116&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008) for about $10. Both can be seen in this photo.

Sorry, I should have added an appropriate smilie. There are often threads where folks wring their hands over what to take on a plane.
But to seriously answer the question, everything goes through the x-ray. Full disclosure. But shucks, they have no problem with 14" knitting needles, so a toothpick won't
cause any concern.

Ummmm...*I* don't go through the x-ray and I carry my Ti stuff (things like this) on my person.
I got a new Ti ring from Boone Rings...interesting to see if it will set of the metal detector next time I travel...it is a beefy ring. 8-1-1 Ti.
Looks like the special edition TTT is the last one available until I get more stock!
*edit*
Looks like the Ti Glowpick is also still available too!
All Ti toothpicks are sold! Need to get another batch on the way here, hopefully have a few done this weekend!

Received my tritium and glow-ring toothpicks today. What could be cooler or more awesome and hilarious than a titanium toothpick with tritium in it? I love it. If you want to make more of those special ones, please let me know! And if you make more normal ones I'll probably buy some of those too.

Glad you like them! Once I'm able to get a few more trit tubes, I'll make a few more, as well as trying a few more of the glow picks too.
I was planning on starting my next batch of regular Ti picks today, but I ended up having to stay at work an extra 5 hours to cover a shift for someone that didn't show for theirs...(grrr) At least I got started and was able to cut a few rough lengths to at least get the process rolling....

What I did is use a Sunshine toothpick holder tube and put several Ti toothpicks in it. I got the last they had in titanium but they have nice SS and brass ones and some of them have keychain heads (unlike mine) IIRC.

well I will start to investigate when I could get a tootpick, but my 1st think goes to INKA pen... an INKA pen titanium is actually a tube of titanium, you could certainly arrange it to fit your need. No ?
This isn't Ti, but it works pretty darn well, especially since the tube I ship them in slides in snugly...

DB - where's that tube from?
Claude - Inkas are too small to hold these toothpicks, even if there was a way to use them as a storage case, which I don't think there is.

If you are referring to the metal case in his hand not the clear one. DB lists an ebay link to them just a few posts up #116
I have 5 new Ti toothpicks available at the moment (only 4 are pictured; I also have a plain toothpick like #39).

Stu: I ordered one of the ebay ones. Didn't notice the link before.
Neph: I tested it and the Inka actually might work as a toothpick case if you take out the pen part. Kind of expensive for that purpose though, and doesn't screw in place so it could open and spill.
DB: I'd love another tritium and/or glowy toothpick(s)!
<<edit>> DB, I'll take the plain one. Please PM with PP address and total including some reasonably fast shipping method.

We'll see. The first one I made was a titanic pain in the butt. Took me about 6 tries the first time; burned through over a foot of titanium stock before I got it right. If I can figure out an easier way to do it, you'll see more in the near future. Otherwise it will just be a limited number, mainly because the trit tubes are expensive and take forever shipping. But I'll still do it regardless. :)

Well, I can imagine it would be tricky. By the way, what about the glow stuff? What did you use for that? Would you be able to put some in the grooves of my tritpick if I were to send it back? (I'd pay of course). Or is that pointless overkill?

I have to say, I've actually been experimenting in secret on this. I haven't been able to produce a very refined version yet, as it's been all manual handwork with a dremel so far. I'll keep everyone informed on how my experiments go and hopefully I'll figure out a solution to make a better SAK toothpick. ;D

I wouldn't be able to do it the the regular toothpicks, as I machined wider and deeper channels to accommodate the glow powder/epoxy in the first glowpick. I do plan on making more, I just need it to be warmer so it's easier to work with the epoxy.
All the current Ti picks are spoken for, but I should have a few more this coming week. ;D

Not that I'm aware of. It's a little bit different that what you can do with aluminum. If you wanted something dark, the deep blue/purple is about the darkest option.

What I'm really excited about is that I can do larger anodizing projects because of the new machine. I just need to find some larger Ti projects now... :police:

Received! #54 is all yours!
Hi. I am really interested in having one. Is Paypal the only way to effect payment?. If so, will you keep manufacturing these items in the next months? I iwill only be able to effect paypal payments as of February next year.

I will continue to make these into next year. I prefer Paypal, but I can also accept a money order as well. It just makes the process a whole lot longer, as I wait to make sure everything clears first.

Yes, #55 is available. Shipping to Sweden would be $5 additional, so the total would be $30.
Three more Ti Toothpicks added, which makes a total of FIVE available at the moment.
