Is there such a thing as an EDC convention, where you could...
Examine vendor's wares,
See what other EDC freaks are carrying,
Buy a knife, a watch, a compass, a titanium pen,
Browse carry gear, bags, cargo pants, etc.,
Trade Atwood tools with other Atwoodies,
...and in general, wallow in EDC-ness for a day? If this already exists, when and where?

Ya we could have a convention in Vegas
I have never heard of such a place, I am afraid that there are too few of us, but I will be waiting patiently for the day

It's too bad we don't have enough people to have an annual convention. :( The SHOT show is pretty relevant, I believe, but I've never been.

The SHOT (shooting, hunting, outdoor trade) Show in a few weeks is *the* place to be. There are a few smaller regional trade shows, but SHOT is by far the largest one. Loads of lights, knives, guns, etc.

From a little research:
The 2008 Show
February 2-5, 2008 -Las Vegas Convention Center
Las Vegas, NV
Exhibitor List (http://www.shotshow.com/app/homepage.cfm?moduleid=4386&appname=100300&campaignid=61346978&iUserCampaignID=34937507)
Did not see cost to enter... after looking at another thread in this sub-forum, I get the feeling it is for vendors only? Not open to the public? Consumers need not apply? I see vague half-assurances that it's not very difficult to get in (mostly by people who have air-tight excuses to get in), but I'd need more assurance than that if I go to the trouble of traveling to Vegas. If the SHOT show is not open to the public, then this isn't really an answer to my question, I'm afraid.

I beleive it's too late to find accomodation?

Bolster, you can register as an "industry consultant" - no questions asked.
If you're into lights, guns, knives, outdoor-anything - SHOT is the place to be. It's HUUUUUGE!!
