Just returned from visiting Brussels, Amsterdam, and Hamburg-the 30 second EDC Report:
1. Used needle and thread from the wallet to fix buttons on a coat and sew up a sock. I carry a heavy guage sewing needle in my wallet, already threaded, with a bit of tinfoil over the tip.
2. Carried both coins and paper currency in a leather coin wallet, purchased from Amazon. This worked out great-in Europe, the Euro Coins are great for public transportation, public restrooms, etc...worked out much better than a money clip and loose coins.
3. Used an Olympus Stylus digital camera-compact (this is the one that is waterproof/impact resistant. Only problem is you need the extra lithium batteries-ie, I wish it used a standard battery. But overall, no issues.
4. Other than the sewing needle mentioned above, didn't use anything from the wallet, keychain, white bandana-but if you understand my EDC philosophy, that was fine with me.
PS-Yes, marijuana and prostitution are both legal in Amsterdam, but in that city, it's mainly for tourists and restricted to small "coffee houses." As for the Red Light District, the one in Hamburg was much worse, but that's for another forum.
PSS-I was with the wife, anyway-we went to visit Anne Frank and Van Gogh.
