Hey folks, brace yourselves for
The 1st annual Pennsylvania preppers meet and greet .... uhhh.... extravaganza.

We are setting two dates in January (Friday the 11th in the evening, and Saturday the 19th in the afternoon) and if you want to come out vote for one or the other. The one with most votes is the "primary date", but if there is enough interest and people that can't make the primary, the secondary date will get scheduled, too.

Once I have a feel for how many folks we have and where everyone is coming from - we'll set more of the details in stone and also pick out a location (somewhere in the vicinity of SE Pennsylvania). This will be a family-friendly event if you want to bring a spouse or kids, and we'll probably work food into it somehow because I love food.

This invite is also being extended on glocktalk.com S&P forum , and feel free to spread the word. All I ask is that we have an advanced headcount. This is primarily a preparedness geek get-together, however anybody who carrys extra stuff in their pockets are welcome to join. :)
***UPDATE***

Times and locations are set.

Friday Jan 11th at 6:30PM (1830 hrs) casual dinner meet for lightweights at Red Robin Gormet Burger's in Quakertown

690 N West End Blvd, Route 309
Quakertown, PA 18951
http://www.redrobin.com/home/locate.aspx?id=324&dist=16.01

Saturday Jan 19th hiking the Pinnacle at
Latitude: 40.5832
Longitude: -75.94171
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=decimal&latitude=40%2e5832&longitude=%2d75%2e94171
This is the main event and will start with a meet @ 1000 hrs, with a firestarting challenge. Bring something to start fire and we'll see who is the "hottest" prepper in PA. No lighters, no matches. You can't start your fire with anything that couldn't be viablly brought in your BOB.
Hike starts @ 1100 hrs, with or without BOB. It should go unsaid but bring appropriate gear.
Lunch will be held later when we arrive at a good spot for it - pack in everything you need, we will pack out all trash.

Let me know which dates you will be attending on and I'll add you to the list. Hope to see ya there! :)

I'm going to keep them secret for now, but I will tell you that I already own every one of the prizes and love them. Very cool stuff. I nearly asked the same thing, until I spotted: Southeast PA, but otherwise not decided yet.

Thanks, Karen!

The actual location is TBA once we know where most people are coming from... but it's going to be somewhere in Southeast PA.... but NOT Philadelphia.

I can tell you that whereever we pick will be gun-friendly and casual. Most likely it will be in or around the Bucks, Berks, Lehigh or Montgomery county area.

Hiya BBB!

Hey Vic!

running into you here is like running into a friend at the grocery store.... unexpected, not too surprising, but always delightful. :)

Sharpdogs: I'll be sure to PM you when we have more info - hope that you'll be able to come along.

Bubbajoe: I'll keep that in mind, you are the first person who has pushed for a location, so I'll strongly conisder lehigh area now.

Tell your friends. :)

I'm in. Still like the hiking/camping idea but maybe we can do that in the spring or summer.

The 19th looks best for me. Maybe I bring a thing or two so we can hold a raffle.

Now that is sounding like fun... since it's the holidays perhaps we could also have a EDC white elephant? Everybody brings a strange EDC to exchange and whatever you end up with you need to add to your EDC for a week.... ;D

I made this for everyone who has not been there yet. This shows you the meeting points and fire starting event location as well as the entrance of the trail. I can map the trail IF you wish.
