Well seeing as how security is getting tighter the basic tool you could possiby bring onto the plane is a torch. Just wondering if any of Peter's tools are allowed on planes. Things like the wedgie or prybaby. Maybe say its a fancy keyring toy? :-X

My mini prybaby always travel with me when I go overseas.. 3 times to exact. But I always kept it in my hand held baggage. No question asks. :)

my wedgie, mini prybaby, and screwdriver would probably pass clearance. there's some doubt about the booger tho. my v-notch booger wouldn't. my old scout wouldn't either. i'd regrettably have to check those.

I actually flew with my PryBaby. I keep it in my $$$ wallet. I usually take it out when I fly, but I forgot this time. It wasn't an issue.

I was wondering about the Prybaby myself as far as airport security. Removed mine from my keychain before I flew recently so I didn't have to give it to TSA.

My only experience with security and the Prybaby was going to the court house to get a marriage license a couple months ago. Walking through the magnetic gate was fine because I put my keys in the basket I handed him. I guess, from what my wife said, he was examining my Prybaby with curiousity. He did not take it from me because it really is just a bottle opener with extra uses. No sharp edges except the v-notch.

TSA regulations specifically allow screwdrivers on the plane as long as they are less than 7" long, so the prybaby and keyton are fine. Add an edge and its considered a knife.

I never carry an Atwood with me on a plane, even if I know it is OK - just too paranoid about losing it!

I flew with my Prybaby last month. It was in my bag, so they may not have even seen it on x-ray. Then afterward I realized that it was attached to my LZ Fire Fob, which probably would have been more of a problem.

I spent 4 miserable months flying cross-country twice a week, and never had a problem with my mini-prybaby XL. It got tossed in the basket with the other keys, and no one seemed to notice.

OTOH, a granola bar got TSA all excited (they let me keep it after dissecting my luggage), and some exercise bands really got them going. I got to keep that too.

My experiences have been similar-no problems at all with my Prybaby, now that everyone has calmed down a bit. I remember in the hysterical months following 9/11 I had a 1" pair of nailclippers confiscated at LAX,

Those suckers are a bit pricey to me risking.

would venture a guess that it mostly depends on the mood of the particular overworked/underpaid TSA agents manning the stations. I'm not sure i'd chance it. Too expensive a mistake to make.

Well the rules clearly state under 7" tools are allowed. I just through PBIA to JFK with no problem for my metwrench and G3, expecting the same going back. If not I will have to discuss the matter with a supervisor then I guess.
