Leatherman Juice KF4 review
I got my Juice KF4 the other day. I normally carry a Micra, so I opted to get the KF4 rather than the CS4, like Dave has. Size is comparable to the CS4, short & fat. The first impression in the hand, is this is a solid tool. It is larger than the Micra, but smaller than a PST, or whatever the main full sized base model is called nowadays. I find it carries well in my front pocket—despite the weight, I did not notice it at all yesterday.
The KF4 comes equipped with: Yellow easy to find handles, a short English/metric scale etched into the handles on one side, 1 Phillips screwdriver (4 sided), 3 blade screwdrivers, dual surfaced file (metal file and diamond coated, so you could dress a blade edge), straight edge blade, full serrated blade, awl with needle eye, very aggressive saw blade, needle nose pliers with two wire cutters, and a lanyard ring.
I will note that there is no bottle opener, nor a can opener, but since I have a P38 on my keyring, and the Micra has a bottle opener, I won’t miss it.
All the tools are of stainless steel, and there is no wobble in the various items. Although not truly ‘locking’ in place, they do click solidly into position, and do not tend to fold. The unit is riveted together, meaning it is not user-serviceable. This is somewhat of a detriment, however Leatherman has a very nice warranty, and quick turn around on repair/replacement that unless it is a TEOTWAKI situation, it shouldn’t be an issue.
The KF4 Juice, with all tools displayed.
