Hey guys,

I'm constantly having trouble with the search EDCF function. I can never seem to find anything I'm looking for on the first go. I usually have to do the same search a couple of times to get any results at all.

For example, just a few minutes ago I typed 'traser' into the search EDCF field and got no results whatsoever. I hit search again, and again but still no results. I searched manually through threads to find results which should have appeared in the search results, and there are quite a few containing the exact same word, spelt the same, in lower case.

So after verifying that, I searched again with the same word, and this time all the results appeared!

This happens to me most times I use the search function - I'll have to search the same thing a few times to get the results. Even then I think there should be more results than I get. Am I doing something wrong?

The upgrade presented a bit of a snag with the search function...I need to decide how to best index the boards for searching, and it's not a small decision.

Blame this one on me until I decide how to best optimize the search...hopefully, it won't take too much longer.... :(

Part of the problem is that it seems to search the board you are on at the time. I search "taser" from here and only get one hit (two now that I've posted this). If I go out to the main page and search "taser" it comes up with a lot of hits.

For the most comprehensive results search from the EDCF main page.
