I've been wanting to get a P01 for a long time now, and have decided to do so sometime after Christmas.
While I can't carry in this county due to a bad sheriff, I'm hoping that will change if we get a new one elected.
I would like to know if anyone EDC's a P01, and if so, how they do it?
I've got a CZ 75 Kadet, and stuffed it inside my pants strongside, and I think I could pull off carry like that. It didn't seem to impair movement or be too noticeable (when looking in the mirror), so I'm hoping the smaller size of the p01 will only be better.
I'm about 5'9" and 150lb.

Jim,
We will have to try somethings next time I see you. You will be surprized at how concealable a full size is at times. I will show you tricks to make it more concealable. There will be times however that the P01 will not conceal will eight while a fatter gun will actually conceal better. There are alot of contridictions in concealment but you will be able to see for yourself.

I sometimes carry an EAA Witness Polymer which is based upon the CZ75 series. It is a fairly large pistol but is not onerous to carry. Loose clothing, light jackets, and proper holsters can do a lot towards hiding a larger pistol. I tend to carry mine in a pancake holster slightly around on the right hip, or in a behind the back rig which I like. Some do not like the behind the back holster saying it is uncomfortable to sit with, but I dont find it to be uncomfortable if I keep it to the left of the spine. Being a large framed individual I find this works well for me and have never gotten "the look" when someone sees you carrying.

Beware of small of the back holsters. There have been serious injuries due to them. I fall onto the back and the gun can crack your spine.

Yes, this can be true, if you carry them on the spine if an accident occurs, I wear mine around away from the spine as I explained earlier, not only is it safer there, it is more comfortable when seated.

Well now I'm not so sure about the p01...
I thought I had it all figured out and was decided, but I was always concerned about one little issue....the decocker.
The p01 is an outstanding gun, but that one little issue is almost the breaking point of the deal.
I think I need to go out to the next big gunshow and hold a few different models to see what works best. I'd much prefer a gun with a safety I think.
Either the CZ 75 Compact, or the RAMI. Both would make excellent EDC's as well...

I used to EDC my CZ P-01 in a DC Special by HBE.

I used to EDC it until my son-in-law got hold of it and uses it for his EDC. The pleasures of parenthood and married children. O0

I went the opposite way on the whole decocker issue. I'm more comfortable not having a manual safety switch.
A safety switch is just one more complication, I prefer point-n-click interface. Though I don't care for his music, the rapper 50 Cent had an interesting comment as to why he likes revolvers (in an interview with Mass Appeal Magazine): "forget the safety, ******** get killed with their gun on safety."
If you're not totally hung up on having a rail, the CZ PCR has a slightly sleeker slide profile. I bought one of those to replace my CZ RAMI. The RAMI conceals better, but is harder to shoot long distances for plinking/competition. Not a big deal for personal defense, but I wanted a gun I could use for games too. Since I mainly carry the CZ for rent collection and evictions, I figured I'll EDC a S&W 649 (snub .38), but carry the PCR for special occasions and for plinking and matches.
So far as "anyone EDC a CZ P01?", the Glock 19 is almost the exact same size, just slightly different platform. So far as concealment/deployment goes, any advice pertaining to CCWing a Glock 19 equally applies to a P01/PCR.
Tons of folks carry Glocks, which have no safety lever. Tons more folks carry revolvers, ditto. The DA pull on a CZ isn't heavy, but it's solid enough that it should be totally safe in any proper holster. Don't let that one little detail throw you off of these great guns.
Cheers,

I own two PO1's a standard black and limited edition green from Ellett's in S.C.. I have carried the gun concealed in a couple of diferent ways.In fall and winter you obviously have more optiions and I like it in a strong side hoster just behind my right hip.It also fits nicely into my Maxpedition fat-boy.
The PO1 is a great choice. You will love it.
