Hello all. I know this isn't quite a handgun related topic but I don't know who else to ask. I've been racking my brain over this the past few days. I have a Remington 870 with a Choate Farbram Mk6 folding stock, 6 shell sidesaddle and 10 round mag. I recently purchased a Surefire M69 forearm (you know, the one with the picatinny rails) for it and also a bargain basement Streamlight M-5 tactical illuminator. What I'm wondering is - will the Streamlight fit to any picatinny rail or am I going to have to buy that stupid $20 adapter. I'm also wondering if the Surefire forearm is going to be too long to use with the Choate stock. Any help would be greatly appreciated. So, in other words - does anyone know if a Streamlight M-5 uses a picatinny or weaver or proprietary system?

Thanks
Shao

Well I figured it out..* Standard Picatinny rail.* Fits great.* Now my 870 really looks the part.

Thinking of replacing the M-5 with a TLR-1 because I like LEDs!!!

You may notice the surplus M60 sling. Helps when carrying a 10 lb. shotgun on the ready for 8-10 hours a day.

Which brings me to the topic -

Which would you prefer - the M-5 (basically same as M-3 and M-4) or the TLR-1? The reason I'm asking is that the M-5 has a HUGE amount of flood but a giant black spot in the middle, quite different from the high power LEDs I'm used to.
