Im trying to watch my pennies at the moment (NO more spending on Maxpedition!) have an excellent Quartz Omega Seamaster which I never take off, had it about 7-8 years and it still looks like new BUT I also have the limited edition James Bond model Chronometer that has the 007 logo on it & 007 "waves" on the dial instead of the usual Sea waves.
Im thinking of trying to sell it on Ebay, but just wondered if anyone out there has ever sold such an expensive item this way? I paid £1300 for it in June 2002 I believe theyre quite sought after.

I bought an Apple laptop for 1100.00 on ebay, and sold a Carlton collectible racing bicycle for 850.00 on ebay.
I think those are my highest priced transactions.
If your feedback rating is zero, you will probably get less than if you have 100% of 300 positive feedback rating or more.
Rare items like the bike I sold get lots of attention as long as you do not have too high a reserve. It had over 2000 views and jumped from 550 to 850.00 in the last ten seconds. Very thrilling!

I've sold very, very expensive camera equipment quickly and hassle-free online. I've done tens of thousands in expensive item transactions.

There's nothing wrong with selling on the Bay... better target market as it's worldwide and well known. I have been selling on the bay for a few years and normally only sell higher end items... just remember that if you get an email from them CONFIRM it at eBay messages before you reply... I have been having a minor problem with this of late, but, other than being a nuisance, I have had no problems at all...

One thign about selling on Ebay for relatively high end items, watch buyers feedback carefully. This is true in buying or selling but cam make life much easier if you pay close attention to it as there are alot of scam artists and also people who bid, win and try to force you to change your payment methods or send item first, or give them discounts etc. it can be a pain because then you have to go to mediation.
Spell out very carefully and plainly what your sales criteria and terms are. You can even block people from bidding who have low feedback or do not have paypal if you want paypal payment.

A great place to sell and buy watches is timezone.com. Many of us are all over that forum when we look for watches. My last two watches were purchased there. People there know the value and worth of such time pieces. Best of luck to you! It's a nice one!

On eBay be careful of Nigerians bidding or buying ('buy it now') and ending the auction. You think you've got a good buyer and your item has just sold, but you're never gonna get your money from those guys. Plus, to get back your listing fees you have to go to a lot of trouble and contact eBay a lot.
You can avoid them bidding/buying by going to 'My Ebay' and accessing settings, where you can only allow members with certain profiles to bid - i.e only residents of certain countries, feedback of more than 10, members with Paypal accounts, no negative feedback. Since I changed some of those settings I've not been hassled from the hoaxers in Nigeria.

Thanks Pwallwin. I didnt know I could do any of that, Im a newbie to Ebay. Ive had arrempts by Nigerian scam artists before. The usual "I need a UK bank account to pay my millions of dollars into!" & "please can you help, Im in Nigeria to collect my dead brothers paycheck but need airfare home etc"
WHAT a country!! I notice that an awful lot of US sites wont ship to Nigeria. No ruddy wonder. LOL
I'll look at Timezone.com, too. Thanks for the tip.
