MY TYPICAL EDC

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/6900/dsc01490qf6.th.jpg (http://img514.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01490qf6.jpg) http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9733/dsc01492uq4.th.jpg (http://img297.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01492uq4.jpg) http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/6189/dsc01494zw8.th.jpg (http://img297.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01494zw8.jpg) http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/9321/dsc01497oy5.th.jpg (http://img514.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01497oy5.jpg)
This is my typical EDC load lately: Wallet (cash, cards, id, mini-light), HP iPAQ hx2415 PDA, Moterola i730 Cellphone, Keychain, Gerber Clutch, Photon Proton, CRKT M16-10KZ. On my Keychain (from clip clockwise): Berkeley Point Titanium Snap Shackle (REVIEW LINK (http://edcforums.com/index.php?topic=8366.0)), 2gig Sandisk Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive (contents described HERE (http://edcforums.com/index.php?topic=5253.msg64355#msg64355)), House Key, Shed Key, Camper Key, Truck Key, Swiss Army Knife - Classic Model, GID Lanyard, Boy Scouts of Amarica Fire-Steel, Inka Pen - Stainless Steel Model. In my wallet is the mini-flashlight that I learned how to make from fellow member sed6 HERE (http://edcforums.com/index.php?topic=13891.0). The "tools", which includes my keychain, knife, flashlight and multitool all have GID elements. For the keychain and multitool I have a small GID lanyard attached. For the knife, I have added GID epoxy to the lower detent on both sides of the knife. The Photon Proton flashlight has a built-in GID bezel. These are the things that are most likely to get dropped so hopefuly having GID on them will help in finding them.

EDC STORAGE AND DISPLAY

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/6589/dsc00972hu1.th.jpg (http://img509.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00972hu1.jpg) http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/9997/dsc00969oh3.th.jpg (http://img399.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00969oh3.jpg) http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/6303/dsc00970oa7.th.jpg (http://img206.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00970oa7.jpg)
These pictures are out of date and do not refelct my current collection, but at least you will get the idea. This is how I store/display my EDC collection. Very simple and made from 4' long oak from Lowe's. Items that don't stand up easily by themselves like knives and multitools get strapped to more sections of oak with thick hair bands (they hold up and last much longer than ordinary rubber bands).

Fine collection and excellent organizational post! I was wondering if you could offer a few words about the Gerber EAB? I like carrying a box cutter, but so many are just massive or poor quality.

BTW, I have a set of southord picks and am excited to get a referral on a different company.

Thanks,

Yeah, I really like that Southern Specialties lock pick.

As for the Gerber EAB. It's very nice and a heck of a deal at about $10 at Walmart. It is very compact and appears to be very rugged. With a little practice one can learn to open it with a flick of the wrist ;)

Thanks guys,

Very kind words :)

I've been thinking lately about thinning out my flashlight collection. When I look at the other stuff in my collection, I'm very happy with it all, but I'm really only happy with a few of the flashlights. Many of them are inexpensive (nothing too special about them) models.

I suppose tools (knives and multitools) are my real passion. Even if they are cheap, as long as they are mechanically interesting to me, then I'm happy.

Thanks again,
Dan

Wow, and I thought I collected gear. I don't know if I'm jealous or intimidated, but either way thanks for your post and pics.

You are welcome :)

No need to feel jealous or intimidated. I just like cataloging my stuff so that maybe if someone sees something they like and have questions, I might be able to help.

I really need to update this post though. I've sold off 22 of my lesser lights and added 7 new lights. I'm kind of waiting for the last of those 7 new lights to arrive before I start taking pictures and doing updates though.

Thanks,
Dan

Yeah, taking photos is a good part of the fun for me. I have always enjoyed posts with lots of photos too.

I should do another update soon. I've acquired a few more things and of course my daily EDC has changed again (always does).
