I know, not a very original question, but still a fun one to see the answers to. So, if you could only have one watch, which would it be?

I have not worn a watch in about 10 years so having one watch would be a step in the right direction. ;D

Citizen EcoDrive Pro 300M mixed gas diver watch... If I can only have one watch I want a rugged one and also one that don't need batteries...
Here is some "Watch Porn" for your viewing pleasure...

Hey Co, you've been hanging around USN too much! :laugh: Just kidding bro!
I'm just saying that because that is a favorite at that forum. One of my favorites as well. Good catch. O0

What?
You mean we are allowed to have more than one?
And all this time I been happy with just one.

Very tough question. One thing I will tell you, it would have to be:
-Automatic or Eco-drive, no batteries whatsoever;
-Deep immersion resistant (200m or more), for general strength and my underwater spearfishing activities;
-Adjustable classic bracelet (because of the neoprene suit);
-Have a seconds hand and rotating bezel, for my timing needs;
-Big easily read face and hands, with some luminescense, for my flying and night activities;
-RRR: robust, reliable and more reliable;
-Affordable (below 500 €, preferably more around 250€).
In conclusion, these requirements certainly point to some latest models of Citizen dive watches. There's one, in Ti, for 225€, and christmas is coming!

It's hard to choose just one, but recently I've grown very find of my Fortis Flieger. It is my only automatic with the screw down crown.

I am wearing the ONE and only watch; a TAG Heuer Automatic. It is stainless steel and gold, with a green face. This IS my dream watch.

I've been wearing my TSAR almost every day now since I got it around the begining of the year & I love it BUT if I was allowed only one watch it would probably would be one of my Casio DW-6900s! It has everything I need, nothing I don't & while not as easy to replace as it once was it can be found without looking too hard & is down right cheap considering how dependable & rugged I've found it to be. The only reason I have more than one is because while looking for a replacement strap for my ten year I got a deal one another that was too good to pass up (probably won't be the last time that happens either). I'd love, love, love an Omega Seamaster but I only really need the Casio (and the occasional battery every 4 years or so...).

Well, I'll vote for my SKX173.* Tough as nails and never eeds winding (I'll never go back to a non-automatic).* This has an Italian rubber strap w/deployant.

I'm another member of the Eco-Drive fan club. My "one-watch" choice would be the Citizen Skyhawk Titanium.

I wear this one nearly all the time as it is and I love it! It's tough, reliable, and incredibly accurate. (Who else uses a thermocouple to adjust for temperature variations?)

I've only had one for the past 20 years. it is a Rolex Date and it is worn 24/7. Before the Rolex I used to need a new watch every two or three years. This one has been in for service twice. Thats all.

Have any of you guys have heard of the brand Orient? If you haven't, gotta check them out. I just discovered them, and they are awesome. Along the lines of Seiko and Citizen, but styling is different. Quality is comparable to Seiko, better than Citizen. I just purchase one, and I'll post pics as soon as I get it.

Yes, Orient's are nice, here (http://www.watchmann.com/orientwatch.asp) is a blurb about them (plus a good place to get them).
Junkers are really nice also, and not too expensive, see them here (http://www.longislandwatch.com/Junkers_Watches.htm) NOTE: many of these are Ti, I love the design on many of these.

That's some good info Abouna. I've only seen Junkers while lurking the watch forums. Didn't know they were mostly Ti. Nice looking watches. Leans towards classic military styliing. Prices are good too.

I only have one, and I customized it for my own needs.* Don't wear it all that often becuase, both my PDA and celphone have time.* Mine is a Timex "twist & pull" (I think that's what it's called).* I love how this thing works.* I can set an alarm for under or over 60 minutes and the Indiglo is bright enough to use as a flashlight, plus it tells me what the date is.* All I did was file off the top two wristband posts and add a salvaged clip from a Chinese watch to make it more of a pocket/clip watch.

Unfortunately I have a very bad case of Timitis. It's a debilitating condition, in fact could be fatal if my wife catches wind of it. :) Actually she's well aware that I have them, just not of the cost of these things. :-X
So I can't pick just one. My current favorite top 5 which I rotate through constantly throughout the day in an attempt to keep them all running:
Stowa Marine Original, manual wind
Stowa ProDiver, lime green dial
Limes Endurance, yellow dial
Damasko DA-36
Sinn U1
All German brands. There's something really wonderful about the German watches and I like them much better than most of the Swiss or Asian made watches.

I traded for this Seiko a 4 years ago and have been wearing it 98% of that time. Looks dressy but has a sapphire crystal, which has taken a beating. Best thing it's thin, at 7mm thick it make the watch I've been thinking about a questionable thing at 13mm.
For the time being I'm going to keep with it. Cause if it aint broke you can't fix it.
But someday... I will say Sinn 656.

I would say my Rolex Submariner Date. I have a good size Rolex collection, and of all, this is still my favorite.

I would have to stick with my IWC Fliegerchronograph. I've been wearing it daily for over 5 years, and it looks nearly new. It's very understated, I don't go in for "bling". No one ever really comments on it or notices it except for a few events...gunshows, knife shows, coin shows & motorcycle shows.
I'm not experienced with posting pics, but here's a link to a decent pic.

BTW, I love Sinn, and I would really like to have one of those as well.

Bullzaye,
That is very nice. It is sporty yet it can really pass for a dress watch.

For years I had one watch or the one on my wrist. Break it and buy a new one. For about the last 7-8 years I have very pleased with a Wenger watch. Pretty thin, kind of outdoorsey, water resistant, and shock resistant, and not too expensive. I bought a G-Shock Casio just prior to christmas to wear when I am doing rough kinds of things, and probably hunting and fishing in the furture. So far I'm pleased, but as a digital it does not keep as good a time as my Wenger. This one gains a second or so every couple of days to a week. I'll deal with that and just tweek the time every week or so.

I've always been a "one watch" person for several reasons (budget and lack of interest in collecting watches, chiefly).
Right now my new Seiko Black Monster (thanks dad!) is IT. It's big, rugged and far exceeds my needs for a timepiece.
The only thing I would change about it is the strap--I have small wrists.

If you like that watch, then you should recognize this (a TSAR with a metal Marathon bracelet):

(sorry, I got some Kenko extention tubes yesterday and have been playing with close-ups - that's a full frame image above, no cropping)
I copied below a post froman adjacent thread here. Rolex is my favorite, still looking for opinions on the Breitling.
Been wearing a Rolex Explorer II since '96. Needed servicing recently (automatic wind getting finicky) so I picked up a Titanium Brietling Avenger Sea Wolf with blue face to fill in the gap while it is at the shop. Too new to judge how I like it.
Does anybody have any experience with it?

A Marathon TSAR for me.
Super-tough, keeps great time, Tritium illumination, and rugged good looks as well.
Someday I'd like to move up to a GSAR (automatic mechanical movement), but I guess that sort of statement goes against this thread's stated purpose, doesn't it? :idiot2:
