Are Give-A-Ways not allowed here?

I started a thread about giveaways. It needed some rule tweaking so it was down for a while, but I'll probably finish sorting everything out with it tomorrow so you'll be able to post in it :)

Got the PM. Hope the rules get changed. It's nothing special, just a token of my appreciation for seeing all the cool stuff on EDCforums. :)

Where is your thread on give-a-ways? I don't get why they would not be allowed and would like to hear the reasoning behide it?

Raffles, Giveaways, and Contests
These events are a special part of what makes EDCF so fun. Our members have proved to be very generous when it comes to contests, raffles, and giveaways, and we hope to have many of these for years to come.

If you would like to sponsor or organize one of these events on EDCF, you'll need to contact a board administrator to clear it first. Once it's been cleared, we'll do our best to promote it like mad, and may all EDCF members be winners in the end.


As for the rule changes dino mentions, in that case I believe the rules within the actual giveaway not the rules governing giveaways as they pertain to EDCF needed some tweaking.

We love give aways.* I think they are wonderful.

We just like to know about them in advance.* We want to look at them to see if there are possibly any problems, most are just fine.* If we know about them in advance, we can promote various approved activites at the top of the page when the space becomes available.* If several give aways or activities are happening at the same time in can be confusing and perhaps conflict each other.* We might approve something but ask that it just wait a couple of days for the last one to finish.*

We do ask that an ending date and time to be posted on activities of this nature.
