Deaths Head

I have been on a quest to find the small tool that has at least a knife and scissors.* I have handled my share of Squirts and Mini SAKs, but in all honesty, even those where a bit bulky for my minimalist attitude.* I just need the basics for opening my mail and other packages.
Then there was the Kershaw Two Can.* I've seen it before.* No big deal.* I've heard that it was multi-functional as well.* Still, wasn't really interested.* Pictures can be deceiving though.
I received the A.G. Russell catalog in the mail the other day and was sifting through it.* I then read about the dimensions of this knife.* It is tiny 2 3/4 inches long closed including the clip, and weighs less than an ounce.* Even better was that I could get it for about $18 shipped on the Bay.

I received it today and was quite impressed by the Two Can.* Very slender.* Even with the second blade, it is more slender than most of the skinniest knives.* Very cool design.* The quality wasn't top notch, but the quality exceeded what is expected from the price.* There is a thumbstud for one handed opening.* It is actually kinda small, so there is also a fingernail grove if you can't manage the thumbstud.* There is also another use for the thumbstud which I think is the main function of it, but I'll go over that later.* The first tiny blade came very sharp.* Not scary Spyderco sharp, but hair-popping sharp.* The second blade is only for the scissors function.* So it is the top of the blade that is sharpened.

To close the knife when in scissors mode, the thumbstud pushes on the second blade, so pushing on the first blade closes the entire knife.* At first, I instictually tried to close the second blade first with my finger.* That is a no-no.* That what the thumbstud is for.* Very neat.

Now how does it cut?* Very well actually.* I cut up some of the packing material in came with quite easily.* But the scissors works in a unique way.* Not unlike those Japanese scissors where the blades are spring loaded and you pinch your thumb and index finger together.* It's not difficult to use.* I tried cutting paracord.* It was difficult to cut.* I would't recommend cutting paracord with small scissors anyways.* The Two Can cut through it though, but it took some effort on my part, and it cut it with a sudden snap from the pressure I was applying on the blades.
I give this knife a B+.
Advantages:* Very small and light.* Works well for very light jobs requiring cutting with a knife and/or scissors.* Price.
Disadvantages:* Clip may be small for some to disengage.* Clip could have been modified to be used as a bottle opener.
