There are a few of us here, so let's go hang out for an hour or three.
Probably best to start with schedules. Weekday lunchtime works best for me, but I can arrange a Saturday. You all?

Come out come out, where ever you are. I know there have to be a few more Salt Lakers lurking...sneaksy Salt Lakers!
Wednesday later afternoon (not lunch time) would work for me. Or the 23rd (Saturday) of September.

Either of those will work for me. But surely someone else will post in this thread?

OK, the 23rd is looking like the date. Any suggestions on a location? I start in Tooele, so somewhere on the west side woudl be best for me, but crossing the valley isn't much of a hardship.

I don't visit that part of town enough to know where the good food is.

Phil, where you at? West side works great for me, too..say anywhere between 1-215 and 5600 West.

East side, above highland and 3300 S
I would have suggested Great Wall Buffet on 3500 and Decker Lane, but they reently closed and i don't know much else out there.

The Training Table is on Decker Lane, just off 3500 South and near the E Center...how would that work?

The Decker Lake area works for me as well, though the Highland/330o S area is easy to reach also. Training Table is always good.

Ooh Training Table! We moved from Utah about 2 years ago... Get some cheese fries with fry sauce for me!

Oh yeah, what time of day are we talking about? Early to mid afternoon would work best for me, no later than . . . 4:00 p.m.? But I can flex. What's good for everyone else?

Will do, Brian...we'll gorge in your honor. :ready:
What say around 1:30? I have to be somewhere after 3:00, but that will still give me a little time to meet with everyone and check out your neat EDC setups.

She might be bored, but I don't see a problem other than that.

I'm bringing Mr. loWWorm, so your spouse won't be the only one with rolling eyes. ;D

Sorry!! :-X
I haven't been able to get to a computer the past few days and just heard about the gathering. I'll try and be there if the wife will allow and if she doesn't have something planned for the afternoon.
Thanks for organizing the gathering.

Heck yeah I did...here are a couple of pics...
Top is Phil's well stocked knife cache...WAY NICE! My favorite was a little monster called the something something Retribution (I have a horrible memory :idiot2:). Check out the custom orange scales on his SAK Trekker...droool.
Bottom is Phatch, Phatch's half munched lunch, and unterhund (unterhund's holding up Phil's knife caddy). ;)
Beyond all of Phil's sharp and pointies, we shared other edc items (flashlights, multitools, keychain items, etc.). It was a lot of fun.
Next time we should meet at night, for a little flashlight beam throwing party.

Pics don't do this knife justice...it is massive for a folder. And the action is smoooth, incredibly smooth for being so large.
I think this is the one that made the Training Table worker nervous enough to want to check on us twice... :P

And you know what? That Retribution not only actually fit into that case I'm modeling, but so did all those other knives! phatch is a wonder at careful packing!
Props also to Mrs. unterhund and Mr. lowWorm for not getting too bored!

Mrs. unterhund had some great EDC herself...so I'm glad she came along. :)
We'll need to work on growing the EDCF Salt Lake Chapter a bit more for our next meeting.

Yeah, Phil, I agree! Hopefully we've got more salt lakers this time around...? More the merrier, I'm in. Next weekend looks good for me, or the next even.

Just as a teaser of some of the purchases since last year
Pack Rat, Batuca Battery case, CountyComm's battery case, a few Fenix lights, SD card case, a couple of Benchmades, some inexpensive monoculars, compact tools, and more.
I'm good for lunch most any day but Fridays.

I'm also good either weekend. Lunchtime or around there is probably best. I've got next to nothing new to show off, though.

Big holiday weekend, prbobably not the best weekend coming up. Shall we plan on September 8?

As far as I know, I'm free on the 8th. Not the 15th or 22nd, though.
LowWorm

8th looks good for me, but has to be earlier (Noon-ish - have a baby shower at 3pm!)...unless we wanted to include a flashlight beam party, in which case the night of the 8th also works for me. :)

The 15th and 22nd are both out for me. I don't know about the 29th yet.

I'm fairly new to the forum. Myself and at least one other EDC'er I know live in Utah County. Does that count?
Any word on another meet up, preferably on a weekend?

It kind of died with school and the holiday crush. Keep posting and bringing this up. It will happen again.

Funny Jayce, you always crack me up. How do you know I was talking about you? Maybe I was talking about some other guy who carries 60 lbs. of gear with him at all time 'just in case'. :winkwink:
