I'm looking into selling/trading a few knives, and I was wondering if those with more experience could chime in with some advice, do's and dont's, and things to avoid. Also, I am not old enough to have a line of credit or paypal account. Is that a problem? I know you gals and guys have done this kind of thing before, and any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The only advice I can offer is that which I've seen elsewhere, CPF actually. Try to set up your first transactions with well known forum members. If all goes well it gives you credibility. As for buyer credibility, look for folks that have spent a little time here so you can get a feel for them. See if they have dealt with anyone else on the forum and if you feel the need, contact the other party in those transactions for references.
Send your packages delivery confirmation at a minimum with an option to the buyer for insurance for an additional fee. Put the standard disclaimers into every sale post, e.g. While I will make every effort possible, I am not responsible for lost packages or goods damaged in the post.
Also be very clear about who gets the item. For example "The first unconditional 'I'll take it' takes precedent over PMs or email." Additionally be very specific about any flaws or marks on the item. Include photos if possible.
Anyway this should get you started. Hopefully some of the more experienced sellers will chime in.
