Here is my EDC, lets see what you guys think. Comments/suggestions are welcome.

The far left box is the minimum I have with me:
-Leatherman Squirt p4
-Maglite AAA (to be replaced with ARC AAA)
-Cell Phone

Next box:
-BM 710 HSSR (M2 :)). Carried when appropriate (not school). I would like to get something smaller, less scary (mini-grip maybe).
-LM Wave (old). For when I don't have a bag for the surge which is too big for pocket carry unless absolutely necessary

Everything to the right, what I keep in my backpack:
-LM Surge (black coated, you can get them at moontrail.com)
-Mag AA (to be replaced with something better eventually)
-3ft of Gorilla tape flat rolled
-Tissues (always of use)
-EMT scissors (cut just about anything, cheep)
-Thingy with compass, thermometer
-Paper clips (can be bent to make things), safety pins
-Whistle
-Twist ties
-Emergency cash
-Band-aids
-A few feet of electrical tape wrapped around a cut down match stick (I end up doing electronics stuff from time to time)
-A few feet of wire

I would like to get the Atwood pry bar, need to save up a bit first.

What do you think?

Looks like a nice setup, although you will get some guff on the Maglite. There are a lot of flashlight people here on EDCF and most that I have talked to don't care for the mag. I still like the mag for it's value, as I feel there isn't too much better for under $10. It will be nice when you get your Atwood goodies...

Mini Mags are fine for what they are. BTW, what's that green stuff in the paperclip? I think I saw of that once a long time ago

Cool EDC, your idea of putting electrical tape around a match stick is great, thanks O0
and BTW Hello from a fellow school pupil :)

You got a complete set-up. Nice job being prepared.

Complete perhaps, but dosn't look too comfortable to carry :/

Wire is cool, but why not also (or as a replacement) some paracord/soft cordage which could be also used as a knifewrap or lanyard?

Twist ties?? Why? ??? Wouldn't zip ties or even just more normal (and stronger) wire be better and have more uses as that you're not restricted to such short segments? *a second later* Ooh I see, you say you do electronics that could explain it... Do they make small zip ties which can be reused, I think I would run to the store right now to grab some.

Bandaids? You have a couple types of tape, that is even better :)

O0 On the paperclips, I love them :)

Looks good to me, no offense meant by my .02, I'm just trying to be helpful. Have fun with your new flashlights/Atwood stuff.

how do you flat-roll tape? wouldn't it lose a whole lot of its tack? I mean, it's made to be pretty adhesive to itself.

I'd love to flat-roll some black gaffers tape for my camera bag.

You can wait until the roll is low, then slice out the cardboard.

Or... Just wrap it off of the roll around a credit card or whatnot. My experience with it is somewhat limited, but from what I've done, it dosn't lose tack - afterall it is packaged on itself.

Speaking of this, what's thinner, gaffer's tape or medium grade duct tape?

i don't really know, i'm no fan of the latter.

Yeah yeah, a mag light, the horror! I will get around to replacing them some day. I find I very rarely use a flashlight so its a lower priority. I like the dark anyway ;) Comfort is not an issue because most of it goes in my backpack. I admit I rarely use the twist-ties, but they are good for cleaning up cables and such.

I should get some paracord. I thought of it a while ago and forgot, thanks for making me remember! 50 feet shouldn’t take up too much space right? It made me think of a story I heard about some kid having to repel off a roof with a garden hose after getting stuck there at the college im going to next year. Exploring roof tops and underground passageways seems to be a tradition there, a good reason to have a good light and some rope.

The flat roll of gorilla tape was easy to make, i just rolled it around a piece of paper i had cut. Remember to keep it ligned up well before you make each fold or a bit of sticky stuff will be exposed. I was able to get gorilla tape to unstick from regular paper just fine, but i only left it on for a few seconds, i really should to a long term test.

I really should pick up some zip ties...

Look around for paracord lanyards, they have some magical property which condenses tens of feet into a small keychain.

Uh oh, you just opened a big can of worms their. I would recommend purchasing an Inova as your first upgrade for a flashlight. They sell them at Target now at affordable prices, and they quality is great. They have the X5 and X0 to choose from. Even the Radiant is decent for the price even though the flashlight savvy members wouldn't buy one, but I would take one over a mag.

Dont be so hard on yourself for carring a mini mag. I have friends that dont even carry a light at all! I have one friend that is looking for the perfect light and the perfect price and is not carring a light at all. I have another friend that had an inova pocket light that went out on him and he got ****** off and never bought a light again.

If i did not have a choice i would not hesitate to carry a minimag.

What he said.
There are a lot of worse choices, like not having a light at all.

if i were you i would go to walmart and buy an led drop in for the minimag greatly increases its useablility and runtime and durablility plus its only like 5 bucks for the upgrade

I agree with mossyoak. That will be $5 well spent, and you will have a much better light.
