First, I'd like to thank those who run edcforums.com.* I found out about you guys on CPF and have had great fun looking at all the pictures and posts here, it's very educational and entertaining.* It's nice to have this all-encompassing EDC forum because it covers ALL the bases.* I see so much more here than just flashlights, like at candlepowerforums or just knives, like at bladeforums.* I'm just happy to be here, so Thank you ;)

Here's my usual EDC:
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/3989/dsc05603sw8.jpg
Hewlett-Packard iPAQ hx2415, Leather Wallet, Moterola i730, Keychain (see below), Wedding Ring, Tobacco, Antique Lighter (switched out daily, see my collection), Knife (switched out daily, see my collection), Multi-Tool (switched out daily, see my collection).

Close-Up of my Keychain:
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/9978/dsc05608jl4.jpg
Truck Key, House Key, Victorinox Classic, ARC AAA LED Flashlight, Inka Pen, Southern Specialties Folding Pocket Pickset.

That Southern Specialties Folding Poket Pickset is something else! Very fun little toy:
http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/9738/dsc054133jr.jpg

Here are my EDC options:

My Lights:
http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/3919/dsc053492fk.jpg
I love lights and used to switch them out daily on my keychain, but I've since stuck with the ARC AAA LED light for it's size, reliability and strength.* I'll still buy just about anything if it's interesting and cheap.* I have a wish list of lights that far excedes my budget.

Here's a new addition, It's a MiniMag with Nite-Ize LED drop in and Nite-Ize IQ switch:
http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/9870/dsc05628hl1.jpg

My Lighters:
http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/4946/dsc053375sk.jpg
I collect antique flint/fuel oil lighters.* No butanes, as the seals dry up over time.* Ok, one exception is my Sarome which is butane, but leaks due to it's age.

My Knives:
http://img490.imageshack.us/img490/1896/dsc053557ox.jpg
I collect knives that are mechanicaly interesting to me.* Like my lights, I have a wish list that way excedes my budget.

My Mulit-Tools:
http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/2969/dsc05621hm7.jpg

This is a Timex "Twist & Pull" (I think it was called that) watch that I modified to be carried like a pocket watch.* I filed off the two top wristband attatchement points and used a clip that was salvaged from a cheap Chinese watch.* I don't carry it that often becuase, both my PocketPC and my Celphone have the time.* Still, I was always proud of it and occasionally do carry it:
http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/7177/watch012yr.jpg

Here are two new additons, an SOG Twitch II and a 16oz Nalgene bottle:
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4220/dsc05668rb5.jpg

That's it, that's all my junk.* I'll use this post in the future for updates.

If there's any questions, I'll be happy to try and answer them.

If you are curious, here are links to other EDCF reviews and posts that I have made:

Hi Dan,
What the heck is that skeletonised, framelike-looking, mechanichal-kinda knife in the first pic? I've never seen anything like it before?

Hey Dan. Nevermind, I just found out, it's a Kershaw ET. Very unique design.

Lol nice collection, materialist ;)

By the way, question in general; I see a lot of US citizens with only 1 house key, is that normal? Here in Holland most houses have at least 2 or 3 keys (one 'normal' key, one key for upper and lower door lock and sometimes for the backdoor/gate etc).

What's the middle pen btw? I really like it!

Depending where you live, we can have 2 or more keys as well.
Also, the pen is an Inka. It comes in stainless steel or titanium. It is advertised just like the Fisher Space Pen.

Thanks for your answer. Where is that depending on? If you live in a big city like New York you'll only have one key for your appartment or something?

Btw, I thought those fisher pens were more expensive! If I buy one from eBay they're pretty cheap so I'll have one soon I guess ^^

Well I live out in the suburbs and still only have one key. My house is very low security (when no one is home that is :lolhammer:)
My door has several locks, but I only keep one of them locked. Whats the point in doing otherwise? If someone wants to get in, locks won't stop him, alll he'd have to do is break a window.
Admittedly, I can't remember having any sort of incident anywhere near my home (and have been living here 13 yrs).

I have several doors with at least two locks on each, but all use the same key. If the locks are all the same brand, then a rekeying kit is all you need to set them all to one key! Now, if I can just find Titanium key blanks...

Same here. The locks are only to keep out the less determined. Unless I board up all my windows, in which case the locks will matter a lot more.

Ok, thanks for your responses :)
Thiefs here mostly break in by damaging the door and not smashing in windows so keys are more important here I guess :)

Seriously, I just got this thing and have managed to pick all the door locks in the house. Well, ok, just one, but they are all keyed the same, so...

Thanks for all the response everyone. I was surprised to see so many in such a short time. I think I'm in the right place ;)

ADBF, this is a tricky knife. *It begs to be played with... *Word of warning though, it's razor sharp. *I have cut myself with it no less than 4 times over the past 2 months. *Nothing major, just love bites. *Bourbon probably contributed to this... *Funniest part was I cut my thumb the first night I had it, put a bandaid on it, shortly there after cut my thumb again on the opposite side (through the bandaid!!). *In the morning, my wife asked "so did you cut yourself with that nife again?". *I lied and headed off to work ;)

Very cool,
I EDC some homemade shims, and keep them inside of my cut-down bic pen on my keychain (let no space go to waste!). Good for most locks that I'd have to help people with. As for doors...... well I am no locksmith, but I'm workin on it..... Just started learning today actually.

Thanks for the reply, Dan. Don't feel too bad about cutting yourself. A. G. Russell himself says on his website that he cut himself with this thing. Said he has the scars to prove that it's sharp! Maybe this knife is too dangerous for us non-commando types to be carrying.*

Wanted to add that I think I'll be getting one. It looks like too much fun.

Hi TODD1,

That is a Camillus / Camco "Razor blade Speed Assist". I got mine from Smokey Mountain Knife Works for about $10.

Here's a link:
http://www.camillusknives.com/camco/camco_cobc4c.shtml

I don't know if you're familiar with "assisted open" knives, so I'll explain in brief... This knife is sping-loaded, for lack of a better description. When you start to open it with the thumb stud, a spring takes over and swings the blade out to the fully open position. It's someones clever idea to get around the oppresive switchblade laws. Even Walmart sells several "assisted open" knives.

Anyhow, I plan on doing a mini-review of my folding box cutter knives. I have several other mini-reviews of my other knives, which I have posted at sites like bladeforums and candlepowerforums, that I will also be posting here on EDC forums. I just need to find some time to do it.

Hope that helps,
Dan

UPDATE 08/12/06.* Updated to include some new Multi-Tools and MiniMag with Nite-ize LED drop-in with Nite-Ize IQ switch.* Also, removed, lockpicks and pens (I'm not really collecting them and I only EDC one of each, so I figure they don't really count).* I also removed my keychain silencer as I'm not using it either...* Nice idea, but it was taking up too much space on my keychain...

Thanks for looking,
Dan

That is the Camillus Crossfire, a design by Blackie Collins.

Here are some detai pics:

I have developed an interest in folding boxcutter knives and have been meaning to do a review compairing all of the ones that I have...* Just haven't gotten around to it yet...

The handle holds up to four extra blades (nice feature, none of the others can boast that).

key chain lock picker (http://www.idealcreations.net/ls05.htm) - does car locks

Compact Tubular pick (http://www.idealcreations.net/ls03.htm) for barrel locks

CRKT Rollock knives (http://www.agrussell.com/knives/by_maker/a_through_d/columbia_river_knife_and_tool/crkt_rollock_2_black_polycarbonate_scales.html) - unique opening and locking mechanism

Glad you liked it :)

Thanks,

I have looked at those before, but narrowed it down to the ones I have now.* I would however like to have a car door pick for one of my folding lockpick sets.* I don't think that either manufacturer offers one as an option though.

Have you done any work with bump keys yet?

Haven't tried them, but I've seen lots about them lately on the internet.* Looks to easy to be any fun ;)
