Today is primary election day here in Utah. I don't live in the district with the (apparently) most newsworthy race, but I'd like to rant anyway. Feel free to ignore the post from here on out.
A Deseret Morning News poll found that among registered voters who would definitely or probably vote . . . wait a minute. "Probably?!" What do you mean, "probably?!" Go vote! You want your opinion heard? Hit the ballot box! (Or touch screen.)
I don't want to hear you complain that your vote doesn't count. The only way your vote doesn't count is if you don't use it! Even if you pick the losing side of the issue -- behavior with which I'm intimately familiar -- the winning side will know that not only is there still opposition, they'll have a count of how many people disagree with them. Your vote matters!
If you're one of those who believe the process is rigged, I doubt I can do anything to convince you otherwise. But if you don't vote, don't gripe to me about the results. As far as I'm concerned, if you didn't vote, you're part of the group responsible for what happened.
"Probably!" :(
Thank you for your indulgence, fellow EDCers.
