I'm looking for something to edc everything neatly in my truck. Has anyone used one of these from Duluth? I don't drive a standard, so it should fit. Thanks.

Looks pretty useful, but I have a console in my truck.

I had a similar organizer. It works well, once secured to the floor. Unsecured, is a different story...trust me.

Yeah, I had one that was unsecured, and it turned over every time I took a turn >:(, but this one actually uses the seat belt to hold it into place. But before I spend $100, I'd like to know if others have used it.

I just use a Sportsmans' Dry box. Basically a heavy duty plastic box with a detachable hinged cover. It's gotten alot heavier since I've been visiting here ;) Got it at Wallyworld several years ago for a toolbox.
I have built quite a first-aid kit in it with band-aids, Off bug spray, Bactine spray, wetones, alcohol wipes, snakebite kit, combo can opener/bottle opener, saline solution for contacts, water purification tablets, bottle of alcohol, neosporin, visegrips, scissors, matches, duct tape, nylon rope, paper towels, toilet paper, and road flares. I get a few things here and ther to add to it. I was thinking of getting a small hatchet and folding saw ;D

I'm still planning to put together a box for the truck that would fit under the back seat, but this would be to hold cds, drinks, pens, notepad, wet ones, binos, ac adapter for the computer/phone/iPod, and such and keep this stuff from migrating all over the front seat. It looks--roomy, and wouldn't move. I've tried baskets and such, and they just turn into overflowing messes...that shift around.

What are you EDC'ing in the truck that has to be kept within reach? I carry a lot in mine every day but not much needs to be in reach.

I always have paper and pen nearby for writing. I have quite a bit of time on my hands waiting for kids to finish lessons of one sort or another, so I try to take advantage of that "quiet" time to write. Or play my tin whistle. :-X I also am mobile with my computer and freelance as a writer/editor/proofreader, so when I leave my office, I can still charge up with my adaptor, access the Internet via my phone's modem, etc. But I get tired of the wires all over the place and the pens walking off (why I'm going to put the Ion on a lanyard on the rear-view mirror) and the notepads getting trashed. These are things that stay in the truck.
It looks as though it would work well to hold my laptop instead of in my lap, or I could write on it, and the cup holder in the truck just isn't big enough to hold the big Sonic Cherry Limeades... I want to be able to close it and hide everything. The halter and lead and horse treats can stay on the floor.
My emergency kit would go under the back seat. Most of my sharp and pointy things are on me or in my woman-purse...as opposed to the man-purse... ;D

This looks promising--anyone have one? Significantly cheaper than the other as well.

Karen,
If you do decide to purchase that unit, please take a photograph of it in use and post it.
I wasn't specifically in the market for one of these, but this one looks like it may be quite useful.
I am looking at other products from Duluth Trading, but their use of renderings/drawings (vice photographs) on their site is the one thing that prevents me from buying anything from them.
If you do this, I'll send you something that you might find useful. :)
Thanks in advance.*

Well, okie dokie. Will do. Just received order confirmation from konrad :smitten: that the mobile desk is on its way. Will definitely post a pic of it, along with a review.
Might find useful, eh? Shoot. Should have asked for express delivery of the thang.

Scribs, has yours arrived?* I'm still curious about how it actually looks in a seat in a vehicle.

It did! And I have a review and pics to post of it. Love it. I'm working on resizing my images and managing to put them all in one post. Stay tuned.... :)
Looking forward to your thoughts.
My daughter's stuff will mostly occupy whatever I decide to purchase. A bag such as this will be more organized and look better than the several Macy's paper bags (the ones that have that nifty nylon cord for handles) that we currently use to transfer her things form one car to another.
