Just got some Fred Perrin Bracelets in. The large stainless steel one is for a friend who asked me to order him one. I got a copper one there as well. I did a little research, and copper is denser than steel. Quite hefty and Duane from EDC Knives said he hasn't seen a copper one before. Pretty nice catch. And of course, the one I have been waiting for. The large Ti version. Just a handful was made. Awesome work by Fred except, >:( >:( >:(. There are 2 strands that wasn't welded properly! Aargh!!! It is not attached to the base. Steel would be easy to fix, but this titanium is a whole different story. Duane knows a guy who works with titanium though that could probably fix it. If not, Duane said that he can order me another one. But Fred is so busy with seminars, that it could take months for a new one. So I hope Duane and his friend can work some magic.
Also, I received a missed package notice on my door step. Wonder what that could be? :-X Picking it up first thing tomorrow morning.
So anyways, enjoy the pics.

I wish I had a pic of the heat colored purple ti thunderclouds with hand forged 14k lightning bolts with handmade 14k rivets and 14k french earwires that I made back in 1990. I gave them to my then girlfirend and when we broke up 3 years later she tried to give them back. But I told her that "no, those are yours to keep" and she probably still has them to to this day. No idea where she is though...The earrings were gorgeous and the lightning bolts were loosely riveted so they would swing back and forth.
My current sweetie does have a ti bracelet that I made around the same time. I wore it for years myself and then gave it to her and she has worn it ever since. I'll try to get a pic.

I can print a color design on any white shirt so we can vary pockets, no pockets.
I print to laser transfer paper and use a T-shirt press.
the other way is
if you want color shirts, I would have to do a minimum order from Kaeser and Blair where i am an authorized dealer.

I was going to make a comment about the local demographic of the people that wear t-shirts with pockets here, but it's probably best if I don't.

Well, assuming that a t-shirt actually made out of Ti is out of the question* :D, I'd really like to see it not just gray, but something that actually looks like Ti, maybe some light vertical streaking to give the appearance of a grain to it.*
I do like the logo that copykat posted.
I think this (http://www.kbbestbuys.com/detail.php?ID=8800B) shirt in ash sports gray, though it's not a t-shirt, would be a great pick.
Regardless, though, as long as I can get a 3XL in either 100% pre-shrunk cotton or a 50/50 blend, I'd be in.
No preference on pockets.
Deaths Head
06-28-2006, 11:00 AM
I suggest that whoever has experience with getting shirts done to take the helm on this one. Look over everyone's suggestions then put together a shirt that will please most everyone hopefully and then run with it. We could keep giving out great suggestions, but I think we are going to have trouble finding a shirt that is considered perfect for everyone.
But some compromises are no brainers. Like the front pocket. Some members don't like it. I don't think we will get any complaints if we go with no pockets, but we may get complaints if we keep the pockets.
Also, I was wondering if it would be difficult to make the shirts in different colors for different members who desire different colors. If it is difficult, I would go with a darker gray like many members seems to like.
Just my 2 cents.
Also, I just want to say that we have a lot of great suggestions and I think this shirt is going to be pretty cool. Hopefully any member that plans to get in the Guild get's in while they can get a shirt.

Jon has been kind enough to allow us to use the EDCForums logo at the top left corner of the forum.* Thank you, Jon!!!* If that's ok with folks, we can put that on the back along with Titaniacs' Guild or whatever other info we'd like.
I have not seen the shirt color yet, but this is the gray I would like...if it looks ok, I will try to get as close to that color as I can.
I need to get a rough idea how many people will want these (and how many each) as this will affect the pricing.
Thanks!

That's great! I think the ti symbol should be small, and on the left breast pocket area. On the back it should just say Titaniacs Guild in larger letters on top and then underneath the EDC Forums logo smaller. And that's it. No slogans! Keep it SIMPLE or it will look like crap. Personally I think playing with type on the back and leaving the logo out (just saying "edcforums.com") would be much stronger design but whatever...I would just remind people that I have seen many tshirts come out of the forums and other venues and it is easy to screw it up and make it look cheesy or amateurish. Let's do it right and keep it classy.

Agreed,if its not COOL, no one will wear it, including me. i really don't like white shirts.
the slogan idea was misunderstood. i was talking about my "titanium cranium" slogan in my profile.
it took me a while to notice the EDC logo had a bag, knives and lights etc in it. i think its real cool! and Classy and id be proud to wear it large on the back. i think a run of them, with a smaller run of Ti Guild added would be good.
probably all desighns should be submitted graphically. then maybe do a poll on what seems to be the top 5 ideas.
i will work on my design and submit it shortly.
I Vote to print on a wicking shirt instead of cotton. whos with me!

Moisture wicking fabric will be excessively expensive.* I don't even know if they can screen print onto it and if they can, don't know if it would hold up.
The last two designs will not work with screen printing...not with the shading.* Someone had said earlier we should stick with single color also.* If you want these shirts to cost less than $15.00, I would heed these things...I personally won't pay more than that.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong. The logo has to simple logos with the fewest number of colors possible for silk screening to make it work and be affordable.

I, too, like the Ti symbol from the periodic table. *Nice and clean and simple. *I'm not a fan of black shirts; grey is fine. *To be honest, I'm not into wearing tee shirts anymore, but I would make an exception for this one if it is classy looking. *I like good 'ole cotton myself. *My two cents. ;D

I would highly-recommend getting these screen-printed instead of heat transfer, btw...
One reason I think the Ti from the periodic table looks neat is because if people see it on the front, they'll recognize what it is (or they *should* :) ) and will hopefully look at the back and see "edcforums.com"...if they see a logo they don't recognize, they'll probably just tune it out. I hope that makes sense...I see myself doing things like that, anyway.
If we have a minimum order of 50 shirts, we can get them done for around $13.00 each where I am. That is for white print on "graphite gray" shirts (not "ash" or "heather" gray...solid, medium gray.)
Maybe there could be both cotton and the moisture-wicking. I will check with my place and see if they can do those and approximate cost. Or if someone else has a better source with more expierience printing on that material, that would be great too.
When I've done these before, it's usually been for organizations I've been in here in town...I don't know the best way to go about taking orders, payment, etc. for these. If anyone has any ideas, I'm listening. :) I'm not trying to take this over...I just like the design and it would be neat to get these started soon.

I agree with the periodic table logo. I do like it better. Looks very clean and organized like it should because, well it was orgnized my scientists. If the special wicking fabric is possible, I would go with that for myself. If not, that is fine too. I would prefer thinner shirts. I really don't like wearing those thick T's especially during the summer.

Thanks DH. Profile edited accordingly.
As for the shirts, t-shirts are my unofficial uniform and though the heavy ones are a bit hotter they wear a lot better and hang better too IMO. If they are 100% cotton I can deal with the heat.

It says Titaniacs Guild in red but its so small you can see it at the reduced size.
Its not really small at normal size.
ill try to remember to put up the full sized front logo when i get home. Its on my home PC.
to save money, I would probably do the front 1 color and just have the Titaniacs Guild revered out like the rest of the logo.
I think the back should be 2 color as you see it. They could run 100 backs, then do 25 or 50 with Titaniac guild.
I think what ever the price ends up at, we should jack it up a dollar and donate it to edcforums for maintenance costs.

Just sent you a PM with regarding the Ti stuff Peter. I got my answer here, so you don't have to respond to it.
