No, no, not what you think.

We went to watch a dance recital last night.* The ushers were carrying dim, yellowish output 2AA incandescent lights.* While one young man was busy escorting a couple to their seats, the elderly couple in front of us decided to leave.

They had a tough time with the first couple of steps since it was so dark in the theatre.* I whipped out the Peak all-titanium 3-LED Matternhorn and turnd it on.* The elderly woman turn away since it was so bright, but thanked me nontheless.

The usher came over and asked politely that I turn it off immediately since it was so bright. :) ;D :idiot2: :P :-X

Good thing that I didn't use the Aleph A-1 with the LuxV LED. :idiot2:

Now you have an excuse to buy a variable output light!

Next time, bring your L1 along. I used it at the movies once, and novody seemed to have been disturbed by the tight beam (I used it on low and high, for finding seats).

Inova X1 has a nice tight beam (older generation) and was good for no spill. Not blindingly bright, great for theaters or dark auditoriums. Grab one before they are all gone.

Might be a good time for a colored light. Maybe a variable output red . . .

I did this again with my Nightcore D10 in an upscale restaurant in swank Newport Beach, CA. This time it was set to the lowest setting. No one objected. When we left the restaurant, I discovered that the parking lots lights were VERY minimal. The D10, once set to the highest setting, did a remarkable job of illuminating our path to the automobile. The valet had some yellowish incandescent that got lost in the D10's Cree emitter output. No complaints this time. The New York strip was not bad either. ;D
