View Full Version : Embarrased myself last night. Used my Atwood whistle.
The whistle is on my keychain.
It was dark.* Lost track of my 10-year old momentarily in a good size group of people whom were all strangers.* I whipped out the whistle and flashlight and drew attention to myself while calling my daughters name out loud.
Yeah I could have been arrested for being a public nuisiance; certainly for being an idiot. :-X*
I instantly located my daughter.* Thats what counts. O0

That is my problem too, I love the Atwood whistle but I can never use it without people looking at me strange.

I think the bigger question is...did you embarass your daughter! ;D
I remember when I was really little and my mom used one of those kid leashes on me at the grocery store....I hated that thing and was uber embarassed to have it on. However, would I put that on one of my future kids...heck yeah....kids can be down right squirrely if you are not careful....or heck even we you are careful!! >:(
How loud is the atwood whistle compared to the Fox 40 or the ACR?

I whipped out the whistle and flashlight and drew attention to myself while calling my daughters name out loud.So... you turned your light on as well? I'd be embarrased if I didn't. :)
Seriously now, good job! I do whatever it takes to keep my kids within eyesight.

I had my Aleph A-1 with a LuxV.
I had to point it downwards so I wouldn't blind the crowd. ;D

I use that whistle frequently. The girls each have a whistle that they carry. I use my Atwood to corral them when they start to wander away or fail to continue to listen to me. I've been tapped to take the place of a Girl Scout leader on a trip to a water park this week with a bunch of Brownies and Juniors. I said sure, as long as each has a buddy and they listen to my whistle and come running or silence themselves when I use it. I am not afraid to use it at all. Good on you for using it!
It's getting hard for me to embarrass my kids anymore, but they will usually start walking away quickly if I break into a ceili dance step. ;D

And your nick's Zero deciBel m?* *:-X
More importantly, does your daughter have an Atwood whistle as well. Heck, they made to be used & not just EDCed you know.* ;D
I found a pack of 10 at a 99 cent store some months back.* She's already lost three.* When she learns to appreciate the good stuff and develops the good habit of keeping track of them, I'll get the Atwood whistle for her.
