I hope to be making sheaths like that in the near future. Nothing fancy, but very useable.

I'm gonna hold out for DH to start making sheaths. I'd rather keep my business in the family, if I have the option.

OK they look good but I don't like to have anything upside down.

I don't like to loose anything. :(

If they are tight enough, you shouldn't lose anything. Kydex also has a texture that creates good friction keeping tool where they should be.

I worry about losing my Atwood stuff sometimes so I had my friend Bill Mittelman make up a few of these little cases for me. I also use them to store whichever pieces aren't currently in my pocket. The cases are made of cordura with a synthetic sheepskin lining.

That is awesome! Nice job... O0 What the heck is with your avatar? It looks like a Keyton with no hole drilled? Am I correct?

Thanks,

Gadget Guy

The little pouches run around $5 - $10 (I think) and have a cordura shell with a synthetic sheepskin-like lining. I like them because they keep the tool from scratching up the other stuff in my pocket and they are easy to find in my pocket or buttpack.

Here's a pic of the inside of the case. I've used bigger versions of these cases to store custom knives and swords and have never had a problem with rust. I really like them. The maker has his contact info posted at http://www.billscustomcases.com/ and is pretty good about answering his e-mails.

Joe

Yes, its an Area 51 Keyton without the hole. Here's a better pic.

(My avatar may change. I'm experimenting with a few to see which one I like.)

I could make sheath for you for your Keyton. Just let me know.

Thanks for the offer. I don't need one for my keyton, but I'd like to see if you can make a sheath for a little pocket knife I have. Its really tiny and has a lot of curves. I've attached a pic.

(The knife was given to me by a friend named KennyC on Bladeforums. He made if for a Talonite contest in which members were given a 2"x1" scrap of talonite and asked to make a knife. I asked if he could make a similar knife for me and he sent me the one he made for free. Nice guy!)

I can make it. Just send me $11 and I'll have it back to you in no time with a sheath.

What size did you ask Bill to make?

Bill's case is either 3.5" or by 1". The best way is to measure the tool and send Bill the measurements.

By the way jggonzalez, do you know anyone who could but a lanyard hole in that necker. It will be a pain for you to take it out once a sheath is made.

I forgot about that. Let's put the sheath on hold for now. The Austin Knife Show is at the end of the month. I'm going to try to find someone to drill the hole. The knife is made from talonite and is very tough to drill.

Thanks,

Joe

P.S. - Wife's getting me a Mini PrybabyXL for an anniversary present!
