I'm Curious as to how many of you carry this particular gun. Either the .380 or the .32
Thanks

I carry the PT3AT a lot in summer especially, and when wearing dressy clothing that is harder to conceal a pistol in. Matter of fact, it is probably my most carried pistol anymore. I carry it with Glasser Grays, Corbons or Silvertips, all run through it very well.

If I can't wear cargo pants, the 3AT is my carry weapon in a JS pocket holster. Had it for two years - light and powerful. Perfect for summertime carry.

I carry a P32 in a HBE pocket holster most days when riding my motorcycle. It's loaded with Federal Classis FMJ.

I've carried a P32 in my left front pocket since 2002. Great little gun! I practice shooting at least once a month, about 100 rds, mostly from 5 yds - 2 to the body one to the face. Loaded with FMJ for reliability and penetration.

I've been looking at the Springfield XD SC40, but since this Kel-Tek seems to be commonly carried amongst you fellow EDCers I wanted to get some opinions. Aside from concealability are there any noteable advantages to this vs. a compact .40, or even a 9mm?

I carry a P-32 with an Armalaser-sight, in a pocket holster, front pocket.* Nice small pkg that fits 'anywhere', goes everywhere.*
Used to carry a Star PD (.45 auto) with a Charter Arms 5 shot Det. Spcl (.38 revolver) in an ankle holster.* Way too much fire-power to carry every day.* (Now, only when going into 'very' hostile territory.)

Its lightweight and no brainer concealability IS its biggest advantage. Meaning you are more likely to carry it in any situation, all day every day, no matter the weather or clothing than any othr handgun you will own. That means you are more likely to actually have it on your person in a time of need.
I carry several handgun, and before I bouight the Kel-Tec, I found that occasionally I went unarmed because it was inconvient or hard to conceal at that moment given the clothing or weather.

I carry the 32 Kel-Tec a good bit. Love the little gun.One word of warning, the gun is very light and I have more than once forgotten I had it in a pocket and travelled into an area where I should not carry. It's also gone for a ride through the wash.I doubt I'm the only one who has done this.

I have a P32 with a broken mainspring that is sitting dead on a shelf in my closet. :( It just broke with no warning when I was carrying it in a pocket holser one day, and I go so disgusted about it that I just put it on a shelf and have not gotten around to sending it back yet.

Danny, any mechanical item can break, it is the nature of the beast. I have not heard anyone else that carries one have that issue so I would say it is most likely bad luck and it CAN happen with any firearm, again, nature of the beast. Even a recurve bow, the simplest and hardiest of tools, can have a string break. Some of the early PT3ATs did have issues, which users could easily fix by some polishing but it was a pain. From what I understand they have been worked out and now it is a very reliable pistol, I have ran a lot of rounds thru mine.
That you have never sent it back, and it is sitting on a shelf, when they have an excellant warrantee, well thatpardon me, silly. Even if you dislike it or distrust it, get it fixed and then sell it to fund something that wont be simply sitting on a shelf. To leave it sitting there is a waste of your investment.

Oh I understand all that, and you are of course correct on all counts. I did not present my position as rational :D nor as an indictment of the model. I personally have had bad luck with both Grendals and both Keltecs that I bought. YMMV. Perhaps I should have put more detail into my post so that it would not seem like I was doing a hit-and-run smear against the Keltecs, but I was also playing with a Treo 700P at the time that we are evaluating for work.
Firstly, myself: I have owned at different times almost 300 handguns since I turned 21 and carried at least one (often two) almost ever day for the last 14 years. I worked at an indoor shooting range for a couple years, sold guns for better part of a decade after that and now work for my state's sheriffs' association as Head Geek. I also did photography work for years while I was in college with old Nikon FMs and FM2s, so I am very familiar with the failings of manmade mechanical items.
Second, how my P32 died: I became so disgusted with it because it is the only gun that I have ever owned that broke when it was just sitting in my pocket, not being shot, not due to poor maintenance nor long term use. This particular gun had around 600 rounds through it when ithe spring broke. I had it in a pocket holster and stuck my hand in and felt the hammer sticking up out of the back of the slide. I took the gun out the grip plug that the bottom of the frame just fell out. The gun had functioned fine on the last trip to the range, and was solid and functional when I put it into my pocket that morning. In principle I like the little gun a lot, and had been quite fond of it prior to that. It very conveniently allowed me to carry a second or third gun in normal clothing without resorting to fanny packs, ankle holsters, etc. It wouldn't feed any hollowpoints consistently, but it seemed to be very happy with Geco ball and I was perfectly happy with .32 FMJs compared to 22 LR/25 ACP out of my Berettas or 22 mags out of my NAA.
My intended point was more 1) my p32 broke my heart and 2) PLEASE anybody that buys ANY gun for protection, shoot it a lot and check it regularly for condition and function.

This is weird, it really is, never heard of anything like it, and I know a lot of guys who shoot Kel-tec 32's. I guess it goes to show, if something CAN happen, it WILL happen to somebody somewhere.
It is like my EAA WItness Compact .45 ACP, I bought it off a guy for less than $100, after he shot maybe 200 rounds through it. He kept having problems with the slide release popping out, and the slide falling off, a major issue to be sure. I bought it and sent it back to EAA and they fixed the problem no problem. I had it back in 2 weeks. And so far I have out several thousand rounds thru it without a hiccup. The problem, a weak spring they had to replace.

Lee,
Helll of a deal on that EAA......You are lucky. KT is more than willing to fix any gun problem, at no charge...I can't say enough about that great little gun, carry it all the time here in Tx., to hot for anything bigger that you can conceal.

Thanks Jim, I thoguht he was a bit silly for selling it so cheap. I told him I would if I were him send it in and be fized and then sell it or trade it in, if that is what he wanted to do. He didnt want the hassle so that is what I did, and got a nice pistol for dirt cheap, his loss, but I did tell him and give him the chance to do so himself.

After reading all the positive comments, I just returned from purchasing a P3 AT. This one is going to get a lot of carry time. I'm off to a local pit range nearby to run some ammo through it.

You will like it I bet HatchetJack, very sweet little pistol.
I was at the range this morning, ran 4 magazines full through the P3AT, half a dozen through the Makarov, and then half a dozen through the Witness .45, and then went and replaced the 3 boxes of ammunition that I emptied doing so. Had to unpack my one 20MM ammo box to rotate stock and put new stuff on bottom.

I carry one but only when I can't carry a larger caliber. " A .32 in your pocket beats a .45 left at home." I stoke mine with Win. Silver tips and alternate with Glaser Safety Slugs. I've never had a malfunction with mine.

Hayseedw45,
I use the same in my .32 Silvertips, what I REALLY like is here in Texas when the temp hits 100 (this week) I can just drop the .32 in my cargo pants pocket and not really know it is there......Love that (summer) gun.....

I have two P32's.
The wife's is black frame and SS slide (pretty) and mine is the OD.
Her's has the pocket clip which I like for easy conceal under a thin shirt.
It rides low in the waist band, lower than I prefer, but it is there rather than not havng it. I find I have to dig my thumb into the waist band to be able to purchase enough of a grip to draw and fire in a single smooth motion. So I don't like it that way if the pants are too tight.
I have the 10 round mag for mine and will carry it IWB with no holster. The longer mag allows for it to stay in place and offers better grip for fast draw. Just not good for thin shirts as the longer grip will stick out. By thin I mean like T shirt material or polos that fit tight when untucked. If the polo has some give around the waist it is ok.
Also have a pocket holster and it works great for slacks and some khakis that have wide/deep enough pockets so it doesn't bind or print, and will clear easily when drawn from pocket. Won't use it with jeans as it binds too much for my taste from the pocket. Its a bit tighter than I prefer.
Very light, easy to carry. You can forget you have it. Another advantage in my eyes, uses HP or FMJ ammo, unlike Seacamp which is Silvertip only.
All aroung great gun IMHO, would like the .380 or would seriously consider the 9mm if it truly is same size as the .380
But the .32 allows me to fire multiple shots quickly with faster follow up than larger calibres. Even with stock mag, I feel that I will be able to get off at least 4 shots to the chest in closer ranges, with better grouping due to lower recoil. Also its of my opinion that the .32 is an under-rated round.
I live in tropical Fl. so clothing is usually pretty thin, but I use FMJ for punch in winter months due to heavier clothing and jackets.

ABDF-
The blade is made by Darrell Parent. I've been using it for about a week now and it's been a very good daily user. Darrell Parent is the son-in-law of knifemaker Newt Livesay. You can see similiarities in the work. Don't expect fancy but a good reliable blade at a reasonable cost.
Glade you like it!

Good and reliable are what counts. Fancy is just for show, right? I checked out his site and I especially like the fact he uses Micarta for the handles. I might have to invest in one like yours, I need a good fixed blade. Thanks very much for the info!

I gotta get me a P11! I used to have a P40 but sold it when I got rid of my Glock 22 (went back to 9mm). Now between my P32 and a P11 I'd be set for just about anything, anywhere, all year 'round.
