Our town just got a biofuels station. Big 'ole corn logo! It sells three grades of fuel, one for any kind of gas-fueled car, one for biofuel cars only, and biodiesel. Right now, the prices are competitive with regular gas in our area, and I would like to give it a go. My question is whether or not I should try it. :-\ I have a Ford F-150 with 120,000+ miles on it. It runs well and has always been consistent in gas mileage. Does anyone have any experience with it? Would it be worth the try? I don't want to hurt my engine as I don't want a new truck payment...yet.

dont know enough about it. Could result in damaged engine/fuel system. Lets wait and not be the beta testers.

Sheesh. Don't listen to those guys.
Go for it - cars have been running on those fuels for years. As long as you're using an Ethanol blend for your truck (assuming it's running on gasoline), it should be fine. I have a diesel Mercedes and it will happily run on any of the biodiesel and veggie oil mixes out there. Only the latter requires any modifications, and only so that the fuel doesn't gel when it gets colder.

Sorry, konrad, but that is not true. Biodiesel runs fine off an unmodified engine (just change the oil filter and you're good to go... well, except where it gets really cold in the winter).

Any loss of power, annoying knocking, change in gas mileage, etc., etc., etc., etc.?
They've been selling corn fuel up her for years now. Works fine.
