"Grow those back!"

Wolverine to another mutant.* Go see the movie.

Second-best line:

"D**n. That was my last cigar."

Wolverine to Storm

It cost $225 million to make, I think konrad told me, and it grossed, in its first night, more than $45 million...impressive.

Just got home form X-Men 3. It was pretty good. Had some good one-liners, a few funny parts. Good special effects. It was worth the 3 bucks I payed to get in, but not much more. Props to Wolverine for always kickin' butt, though.

I live in small-town NC, but our matinees are $6 now. Lots of wealthy retirees (nothing wrong with that) who have no prob with the $$. They plunk down $200 for a round of golf on some little course called No. 2...

Went to a matinee showing of The DaVinci Code last week and it was $7.50! I saw X-Men last night and it was 10 bucks a pop! There is, however a theatre around here that has cheap matinees. I think the matinee price is $3.50 or $4.50. The regular price is $5.50 for adults and $3.50 for children.

Hey, what's that mention of after credits scenes? I missed those! What it show? Somebody can just give me a PM if they don't want to post any spoilers. Also, I still want to know where that level 5 mutant chick came from? Wasn't she supposed to be dead? It looked like she was in the water and when Scott zapped it with his eye rays, she arose. Details folks, I need details!

My 6 year old nephew has already seen it twice, I'll have to go see it sometime this week. As for movie tickets around here, they've gotten up to $6 for a matinee and $8 for evening shows, but I don't complain too much because when I lived in southern California in '88-'89, tickets were $7.50 back then, and after a quick search, they're now around $9.50.

If you really need the post-credit details, check here (http://www.themoviespoiler.com/Spoilers/xmen3.html). It's spoiler-riffic for the entire movie, in fact.

As for Jean Gray, you need to look to the history of the comics to get the best idea of what's going on. Originally she sacrificed herself to save the rest of the X-Men from a fiery, watery doom in a space shuttle crash. (It was the 70s, so cut the writers some slack.) She came back to life as Phoenix a few minutes later -- reborn from the ashes of the crash, so to speak -- then eventually turned evil as Dark Phoenix. X3 gives us an incredibly compressed version of this, which actually started with her sacrifice at the end of X2.
