Watch Strap Selection (Should I replace my rubber with sharkskin?)

I have a 2005 Marathon dive watch (I think its canadian coast guard issue or something) - and I used the rubber strap which is pretty damn comfortable and durable but I changed jobs so I dont work on the street as an EMT anymore, I am behind a desk and the rubber strap just doesnt look very nice with my attire. I wonder if I should get a nicer watch strap like a sharkskin one (they look cool) but I am afraid that it wont be durable enough just in case I do have to hop into the field (which isnt a daily occurance but happens once in a while) and I dont want to lose my $500 watch.

Also I go SCUBA diving like maybe once a year and the rubber strap is nice for that, but the infrequency I go, its probably better that I just use a cheap Timex watch instead.

If you are really worried about losing your watch, I would go with the 4 ring Zulu Straps. For more casual use, I would use the 2 ring. Looks better in my opinion without all of the hardware, and it works the same way, just less effective.

The current rubber strap it comes with seems plenty secure to me and I am not in danger of losing it as far as I am concerned. I dont feel the Zulu strap would change the appearance of the watch to a more casual dress appearance over the black rubber strap. I am looking to make the change to something that looks nice.

I like the way the Zulu straps look when I see an isolated picture of a watch on a zulu band, and I also really like the way my black rubber watch strap looks on my watch, BUT I took some pics of myself and the black watch strap looks stupid on me with the clothes I wear to work now (different colored Polo shirts/button down shirts).

I dont see pics of people wearing zulu straps so I cant comment on how it would look on me. I think the sharkskin straps I saw one on this forum and it looked really nice.
