How do I turn something like:
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=112635
Into something that says:
"yada-yada-yada" but when clicking on it it takes you to a URL?
:thanks:

That's a good question GreenLed... I've seen in many posts and I never had the
guts to ask or go find the answer somewhere....

There are different ways to do this, but this way works on this site.
I tried to show it, but the brackets won't appear when I put them next to "url" when I try to post an example, so I spell them out[left and right brackets are after the letter P on your keyboard].
Put left bracket url= then put your link(no spaces)
after link put right bracket(no spaces)
after bracket put your text for the link(you can use spaces in the text for the link)
after that put left bracket /url right bracket, again without spaces
I check to make sure it works by hitting the preview button so I don't have to edit the post later.

I hope that's not too confusing.

Ah ha! I learned something too! The 'code' button will let me show how to type the code without it getting screwed up in the text field. Thanks! ;)

Thanks for the help. I just "fixed" a couple of my posts. Isn't there a way to automate this?

On some forums you can highlight the text you want for the link and then click on the link button and input the the link and it's done. On others you click on the link button and it asks for both the link and the text to be input. There are a few other ways to type it into code as well, but that's just the way it is with the ever changing software.
