I am the adventurous type and will try anything once. Too bad I bought a four-pack!
Coke Blak is the "fusion" of Coke and coffee. You wonder how an idea like this got approved all the way up the corporate ladder?
Anyways, the stuff won't make you gag. In fact I recommend that you try it so that in the future you can tell those younger than you that Coke made a horrible product. Just like Clear Pepsi, but literally at the other end of the spectrum.
The drink tastes like carbonated coffee candy. Like I said, you won't spit it out, but I doubt you will say it tastes pleasing.
Anybody want to buy a bottle. I got three left. ;)

I like it! It tastes just like coffee and coke mixed. It is for those people who like soda and coffee, and want to have a soda in the morning time. It is not something that you drnk like a regular soda. Oh well, I still like it...

I gotta give that a try. For most of his life, my dad has drank a bottled coffe soda called "Manhattan Special", I'll be interested to see what he says when he trys the Coke version.

Not Coke Blak, but if you ever eat a Peppermint Patty and then take a swig of diet Pepsi, you'll think you've died and gone to tastebud hell.

And now, :topic:

I used to work for CC. It's how I got my nickname... but that's another long story.

They will make back all of the R&D,yes they did R&D on this, money plus a tidy profit just from the people that try it one time.

It's part of their marketing plan.

Since I have 3 left, I am going to drink them. Don't want it taking up space in my fridge, and I don't want to just dump it down the sink. Maybe the stuff will grow on me.

Ah the joys of marketing. When I saw this on the shelf I passed by it but I plan on trying it. I love seeing new stuff out there to try. Plus alot of times, might be your only shot at trying it...especially if the area blak was distributed to feels the same as you guys :D . Studied Coke quite a bit in school, easy corporate target with universal appeal. Anyone remember "New Coke" in the late 80's? No not the kind that would make you :boing: :crazy2:  Thats why it says coke classic on cans these days...And does anyone know why Pepsi always won in the Pepsi challenge? Its a pretty interesting answer.

Neither myself nor girfriend enjoyed Coke Blak.
I like coffee, but I find that even StarSchmucks tastes pretty bad in my opinon.

Help me out here.

I'm a fan of Frappucinos with extra shots of espresso (usually three in a Grande) and Starbucks Doubleshots. I never learned to appreciate hot coffee, which is funny since my wife is literally addicted to the stuff.

What I want to know is how Coke Blak...damn that name sucks...compares to the cold, sweet coffee drinks I like. BTW, I used to love sodas, but quit about five years or so ago. About the time I discovered that I liked cold coffee drinks.

Can anybody give me a comparison? Should I stick to the 'shots'? :trampoline:

I would stick to the shots! Coke Blak tastes just like a coke with coffee added to it. Most people don't seem to like it, but I do. I would at least give it a try, as you could always give the other three bottles to your enemies!!! ;D

I still haven't tried it, but I think it's probably a taste you need to aquire, or grow up with. I mentioned that my dad loves this stuff that he grew up with call "Manhanttan Special", http://www.manhattanspecial.com/homepage.html. I'll tell you, he loves the stuff. Loves it. I've tried it a few times, always thinking that I'm going to like it, but I don't, it's nasty. I don't know why he likes the stuff, but he does. I bet the people that like Manhattan special will like Coke Blak. I'll mention it to my dad and maybe he'll pick some up for us both to try. I'll let you all know how I find it.

I do like the cold coffee drinks, but sometimes I find them to be too sweet. The Doubleshot one is good, but it's a little expensive for being so small. Sometimes I like the Frappacinos, but other times I think they taste too coffee-ish. The cold coffee drinks I often buy are the ones you find in the big Aisian markets, like the brand "Hello Boss". They taste good, and they're cheap.

I too, love the "proper" Coca Cola, "The Real Thing"! I try not to drink too much as I realise its VERY sugary & probably not very good for you, but I probably get thru a good 2 or 3 2 litre bottles per week! I do drink Fresh Orange juice & Budweiser too, but I find Coke just so refreshing! Not keen on the diet versions or the strange concotions that they come up with, such as the recently launched diet coke with lime, or that bloody awful coke & vanilla that came & wnet afew months ago. IF I had to drink Diet, I quite like Pepsi Max, IMHO its the only diet pop that tastes "cola-y"

OK, finished the 4 bottles. I have to admit, it has a taste that can grow on you. If it was the price of regular Coke, I could actually see myself buy some every now and then. The bottles are so expensive and so tiny too.
A wierd thing I noticed was the ingredients. Coke Blak contains both high fructose corn syrup and aspartame. Probably to keep the calorie content down.

I have a good friend that is a huge Coke fan. She loves Coke, so I had a heads up and was waiting for it to come out. I think we got it the day it came out...

Anyway, I've had other coffee sodas in the past, Manhattan Special someone mentioned. And I like a good coffee soda. I expected Coke Blak to be good.

Both of us were very disappointed. The main reason, we DO NOT like artificial sweeteners. They have that horrible aftertaste. Thats what ruins it for me, its hard to get over that. Maybe if they hadnt done that I might like it, but we'll never know.

Its soda not carrot juice with a shot of wheat grass, just put real sugar in it already.

I'm very disappointed that other companies have been making coffee soda for years, and Coke can't get it right. I wonder how long it's gonna last? I

It's not available in our area, and I don't think I would give it a try if it were. I will drink an occasional Coke Classic--maybe one every few months or so, and absolutely nothing diet. That aftertaste is a taste bud killer. Plus I don't do artificial anything--its half and half and turbinado sugar in the coffee, and butter on anything that needs butter or cooking in butter, and chocolate, not carob...all in moderation, of course. And don't even show me that fake crab stuff that's white and airbrushed crab color--artificial stuff they call "sea legs"--sea legs of what? :boo:

Wait, this is edc--what's moderation? :-X

The this is with Coke Blak, if you drink diet sodas, some drinks you will notice the artificial sweeteners, and some you will not notice at all. Coke Blak, I can't taste the artificial sweeteners at all. But it is funny to hear that others can obviously taste it and hate it.

I love coke blak. Loved it from the first taste. To me regular coke is bad, diet coke tolerable.

I'm glad it uses artificial sweetners. I hate sugary sodas and gatorade is about the sweetest I can stand.

I'd pay 1.59 for coke blak if it came in a 20 oz bottle. As it is It's too expensive.

Course, when I make my coffee at home, there is only about an inch of space left at the top of the filter and grounds often get in the coffee and I prefer it having sat around for a day (off of course). Some how coffee ages when it cools and I prefer it room temp and blak, no sugar, strong and in quantity. I love caffeine.

Now that I can agree with. Instead of all this artificial sweet stuff, how about lightly sweet coke. I like iced tea with no sweetener in it, and I think bitter-ish coke might be good.

Stick with the shots. I was hoping that Coke Blak would be somewhat like those; strong bitter coffee cut with a touch of Coke sweetness. It isn't. It is like pouring a cold canned Coke into your coffee cup at lunch thinking that it was empty, but it really had about 1/2 an inch of the morning's cold coffee left in it. It is drinkable, but I can't imagine ever saying to myself "Dang, a Coke Blak would really hit the spot right now" like a DoubleShot would.

One of the guys at work likes it. He drank my remainging three bottles. He is the only person that I know here that has tried it and actually likes it.

That Vanilla Coke was really strange, then we had Diet coke with Lime. My favourite, in fact Ive switched from FULLY LEADED "red" coke to it, is the new Coke Zero. Love it. In fact I had "proper" red coke the other day & it tasted SO syrupy, that Ive mostly been drinking water & orange juice over here.

Coke Zero is my favorite diet cola. The taste is not as bitter or as watered down tasting as other diet colas.
