View Full Version : Three Year Anniversary!

I'd just like everyone to know that today is the third year that my wife and I have been happily married.* *8)
And before anyone asks, we don't have any kids and aren't going to (unless God decides otherwise*::) ) for a couple more years.
I must say, sometimes it seems like only yesterday when we began and other times it seems like it has been forever.* Either way, it has been time well-spent.*
I'd just like to take time to say congratulations to everyone here who has been married much longer than we have.* I can only say that I have tremendous respect for couples who spend the rest of the years of their lives together.* God willing, my wife and I will be one of those couples someday.
If you'd like to post how many years you and your spouse have been married, by all means do so.* Young couples like us need all the encouragment we can get.*
And guys, if you have any important tid-bits of advice that my help some of us then please post them.* I'm just now learning that everything is my fault.* ;) :)

Congratulations! I have been happily married for 15 years and wouldn't trade it for the world. We have no kids, but one dachshund names "Honey" that is just like a child to us! Yes, we are the crazy dog people you always hear about. *:crazy2: I will think about any tips that I might have, but I think the most important thing is love, respect, and finding the right mate...

Closing fast on 17 years myself. The only advice I'll pass along that hasn't already been seen in this thread is something I read years ago, back when we were either just married or about to be.
Give in to your spouse 60% of the time. Each of you.

OK, I have been married for 26 years. I still love my wife she still tolerates me. We have 1 son 15 years old. We waited a long time before trying to have a child and I think that was a very good idea. No luck so far as to a second child.
As to advice, after three years it might be too late for you but I will put it out there in an effort to helps others.
Washing dishes try this "sure baby I will wash them" then break a couple plates and a glass.
you might have to repeat that a few times but it is effective.
Washing clothes-- "hey baby, you go sit down let me do that" put on a load of "Whites" toss a new RED T-shirt in.
Hey you got Pink clothes!!!!
This you only have to do 1 time.
Every now and then do something "spontaneous" I know, I hate that crap but if properly applied it will get you good
mileage ( It does not have to be spontaneous it justs has too "look" spontaneous you can plan it all out first).
Also once in a great while do something totally unexpected to show your love for her (This can not be faked or planned it is the one time where spontaneous is a good thing thank The Lord we don't have to do this every day). So I guess you will think twice about asking total strangers advice ;D

Of course I knew it was in jest. :) No apology needed. And as a matter of fact, I am fiddling around right now with the Arkansas Traveler and Green Willis. ;D

(guys ,I hope your paying attention..Topper pulled the "Gee Whiz I am so misunderstood card" and it seems that "fiddle girl" not only fell for it but attempts to appease poor misunderstood Topper by tossing in that Arkansas Traveler remark) Yep like she don't even know I am in Arkansas. My guess is she has already spoke to LowWorm and Denise in the ladies room and has the lowdown on me.
Many men think that card is only OK for women to use; untrue a Real MAN can use that card but it needs to be used wisely not by kids just Real MEN.
All jokes aside that "Butter" thing was Real deal not a joke at all and not likely to be repeated anytime soon.By me anyway.

:lol2: That's too funny! I just checked your profile. No, seriously, those are the only two tunes I sort of know--and half of The Galway Piper. I only had my first lesson last week...
I'll have to check in with Denise and LowWorm, though...
And that's Fiddle Woman to you, Mister.

Hope you all had a great anniversary, Heath.

Thanks a lot for all the well wishes and advice. ;D
I'm not too sure about the dishes thing or the pink whites. I'm not one of those guys that looks good in pink. :( :)

Woo, Heathah. 3 years is a nice milestone. Long enough to feel like you've accomplished something, and yet short enough to not run out of anniversary gift ideas. ;)
And once you've been married as long as Topper has, you can make your wife butter. Mmm mmm, buttery smooth move!
CONGRATS!! That is awesome!!
