Peter, I found this picture and was hoping you could give us a little history of the Prybaby and how it came to be.
Thanks,

Well, it's like this....
About 5 years ago I wanted to make a fancy bottle opener for myself. So I took a bar of steel and started fiddling around and came up with a piece very similar to the one pictured above. As kind of an afterthought I decided to make a smaller one too that I could put on my keys. I had made a huge list of every possible feature that you could put on a tool and tried to incorporate as many as I could into it. What ended up was the PrybabyŽ. That's right, as of last year it is officially a registered trademark. ;)
At first I thought I would make only the big ones but then discovered that folks wanted the "Minis" even more. So for a couple of years I made very small and sporadic batches of them. And I still make small batches, just more frequently. ;D
I only made about 24-30 of the long ones. They were S30v with red G10 on one side and a red DMT stone on the other. I had to go through literal hell with DMT about using their stones and will absolutely not make another single piece with them again. The engineer was not all happy with my proposed use even though it was quite benign. Those guys have NO sense of humor. :P
Anyway, the piece above has a medium (blue) DMT stone on the back side and black G10 on the front. It was the only one like that. I also made one with a red stone and snakewood on the front. And there was one other with carved blue/black G10.
Will I make more with G10? Nope. I like the little ones the best and those are the only ones I am willing to make.

OK Peter, no more fooling around with the prototype Prybaby! I will offer you $100,000 if you make another one. Just kiding, but that would be the ultimate item for my collection. I found the pictures on the net when I was doing some research on the Prybaby. I was so excited when I first saw the Prybaby that I had to learn all I could about it. I sure could use a prototype Peter?? :crazy2:

Dan, it's my own personal carry piece. Can't do tritium as a regular thing.
