View Full Version : Envisioning my Booger in action

Okay, I don't own an Atwood Booger yet, but it's in the future scheme of things. What's really bugging is that I'm seeing all the uses for it already, such as:

1) Opening those impossible-to-open plastic laundry detergent buckets. You know the ones, the ones where you have to remove the plastic ring, then cut the slots, then pry the top open. >:(

2) Scraping excess paint from around my patio windows (remnants of a repainting job).

3) Lifting up some incredibly stuck air vent grills.

4) Miscellaneous box opening, scum scraping, etc. :blah:

No pressure, Peter. :fingered:

Oh man, alright I'll make it for you tomorrow! :P ;D

Actually do have a heat treat coming up in about a week so I'll try to get it in there for you. :)

Roelof,

It's actually sitting on the anvil, already heat treated and just waiting to be ground. Sitting on the anvil is a very good sign as that means that it almost certainly will get done soon...compared to Lowworm's request which exists in the form of a solid uncut steel bar.... :D :P

Weehaw, bring it on! Thanks, Peter, can't wait. (Are you sure you want to take a whole week? That tomorrow thing sounds really good to me). :agree:

I also am envisioning the many uses for my future Booger.* 8)* In fact while waiting I keep cruising Peter's website for other things to buy.* (Ordered a Tac-strap, Mod Keyton and Glow Whistle Yesterday*).* As a side note Peter I love the Bug Out Blade.* O0* I have added it to my Jumbo Fatboy Bag as my new fixed blade EDC.* Anyway I will continue finding things for my future Booger to do.*

Glad you clarified what kind of "Booger" you're referring to...the subject line leaves some room for, uh, mis-interpretation!* :D :crazy2: :uglystupid2:

Speaking of uses...I've discovered that my PryBaby XL is perfect for removing tin can lids that my Kuhn Rikon can opener (http://www.kuhnrikon.com/products/tools/tools.php3?id=34) sometmes doesn't quite open.* Some cans just don't open all the way.* But the PryBaby is perfect for completing the job without sharp edges or stuff being splattered everwhere.

LowWorm

I'm thinking a Prybaby would be a great gift for my bro-in-law (thanks for the use tip, Codeman).

I thought about it for me, but somehow I don't see many occasions where I'll need to use the bottle opener function as such...(maybe some one can prove me wrong and tell me more alternate uses for that part of the Prybaby).

But the BOOGER...now I can see me using every function of that one. That and the micro card seem like they'd meet 99% of my needs, but only actual experience will tell.

LowWorm,

I think you're right....I love the Prybaby but that Bottle opener it's not
usefull...as farI can imagine...But you never know what kind use we can
find for it. Other tools like Bug out Bar, Micro Card , Booger and other
knives are much more easy to find a use for what they are o rwhat they have on it...
Just my .02 Cents....Im sure I'll get at least 3 Dif. tools in the near future :-X

Sunnie

To me, the point of the bottle opener on the Prybaby is so that when people ask me 'what that piece of metal on my keyring is', I can say simply 'it's a bottle opener -- see...?'. That should allow me to end a conversation I probably don't wish to have! The bottle opener 'stealth explanation' feature should be standard on all these tools!! :)

Hmm, now that I see Monica's Booger I must say that I'm even more interested in one...

I've got a question; I'm envisioning adding a Booger to my keychain, is it doable? (I'm thinking about the size of this thing plus the blade)

:D Monica, I am awaiting my Booger. Peter has described one similar to yours in the makes that I hope to have soon. In the mean time I have to be happy with my Prybaby. :peep:

LowWorm

Makarov, the Booger was my first Atwood tool, and I couldn't believe how small it was when I first got it. It's definitely keychain size, even w/the kydex sheath.

redfish, you are in for something nice...love to see what personal touches Peter puts on your Booger.

Day 3 of proud Booger ownership, and have pruned a (small) tree, pried frozen hamburger (twice), scraped goo from a door, popped a stuck lid, and cut open a stubborn plastic bag. All spontaneous acts made infinitely easier by El Booger. Viva El Booger!

Got my very own Booger yesterday. It is like LowWorms with the V-notch in satin. It is like a miniature version of my Bug Out Blade, an absolutely fantastic tool. It is now resting comfortably on my keychain. Best keychain tool I have purchased from Peter and that is saying alot. O0

Well, looks like I've got me some new Booger brothers. :highfive:

I have definitely worn in my Boog, as the not-so-satiny-now finish will attest to. :) But the body integrity is just incredible on this thing. I keep expecting it to show dings or notches after some particularly involved exercise, but nope! Peter says use the thing, and I have! Next in line for me is a mini-prybaby for when I don't need a little blade.

Drop point sounds really good, but the bummer is that when you list it on the site, all these other Atwood fanatics will grab it before I can get it. All the boogers were gone when I noticed your message on the site last night :(
