Hi All. I need a recomendation for a keychain/holder. I want something that'll allow me an easy addition/removal of keys/various other things from a keyring. I dont want one of those pseudo climbing non locking carabiners though. Any thoughts?

I've not tried them yet, but you can't go wrong at that price!

You know, it's amazing how the replacement of any other material with titanium makes me take an item much more seriously.

$4 + $6 for shipping = $10 for a carabiner.. hmm :(

So grab a couple hanks of paracord while you're there. So many nifty colors to choose from!

I use the Amflo coupler keyrings I got from edcknives.com attached to a 18" nylon dog collar attached to a swiss hook from russelsformen.com, then attached to my belt. It keeps everything out of the way, and with all the stuff I carry on it, it makes a great defensive device.

They are about the same size as a standard split ring. The LED light in the picture is about the same size as a Photon (maybe a little longer and thicker, but still very close). I bought a couple as an afterthought along with other items I was ordering, so shipping cost wasn't a big deal.

I just had a few delivered yesterday. They're well-made. The shaft is 1/8" dia, and the opening is also about 1/8". The small opening limits it a bit, but you can bend them some. I've put a couple of the zippers of my Jumbo FatBoy. The threading is better than the usually rough variety found on such small things. They are quite strong, though I wouldn't trust more than a couple of pounds. After all, threads on a 1/8" dia shaft are gonna be small. For $3 each, I'm happy.

I could go for one of those, but I can't help but wonder what an Alien Pod is for...

I think a "ailen pod " is for hanging your spaceship keys off, I don't know how I managed before I owned one. :lol
I like the "nukupod".

Lazermonkey, Codeman,

I got 4 of these countycomm titanium screwlinks, they are nice but the major drawbak is that the screw thingy isn't fixed in such a way that it can't be taken of the titanium 1/8" "rod" that it is slipped on.
Sorry if I'm not able to describe it better, English is not my native language.

What can happen is that you screwed the screw thingy on the thread but the 1/8" titanium rod can just slip out of the screw especially when you screw the scre thing to far on the threaded part , because it is not peened so that the screw piece cannot slip of it.

It happend to me a couple of times and I lost one Glowring this way, I guess I snagged it on something and pulled the non peened side out of the screw thingy.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Sorry to hear you lost a Glowring. Every clip of this type I've seen is made this way. It seems like it wouldn't be very ahrd to put threads on both ends and increase the length of the screw some. That way, it could be securely attached on both sides.

On the other hand, the current design could be considered as a safer, break-away design, to prevent snags that might lead to personal injury.

Thanks for letting us know. It won't get your Glowring back, but at least everyone knows of the possibility of losing an item.
