Hi Peter! I've had those tweezers on my keyring for about a year, and they still look/function as brand new!
I'd highly recommend them, I use them all the time.
I got mine at a site called Survival Keychain (clicky) (http://www.survivalkeychain.com/slivergripper.asp). Now I see the also have 'em at County Comm (clicky) (http://www.countycomm.com/tweezer.htm)

Here's my EDC carry. This is just the stuff I carry around, from the time I wake up, until the time I go to bed. It does not include the pack I carry to work every day, which is........ rather full of goodies. More to come on the pack.
Strider SNG
Seiko Orange Monster on Zulu strap
Arc AAA Premium
Atwood Spannerbaby on Maxpedition Keyper
http://home.nycap.rr.com/sosak/blades/edc2.jpg
I do have a second rotation that I'm testing right now, which is a little less expensive. It includes a Spyderco Paramilitary and Gshock watch. I haven't quite settled in on the flashlight and multitool for the second setup yet. The multitool will likely be my original Atwood Prybaby. Flashlight could end up being a Photon2.

New guy here, I'm a paramedic in NYC. My EDC. Also does not include the pack. Wanted to take pics of my pack but I'm getting a Marauder from Kifaru in a couple of weeks so than I will post my new setup. How do I fit all that in my pockets? I love cargos. And with proper placment everything slides in nicely. Some of this stuff makes way into my uniform while on duty (PDA, protocols, zippo, strider, badge and Yaesu).
Well I got CountyCom ziper pocket pouch that I use as FAK, my pipe and tobacco, LG vx9600 phone, Leatherman Xti, Kershaw Natonal Geo tool as a keychain, Doxa Caribbean watch, Strider GB with TAD tritium thumb studs, my shield, dog tags with ETS photon, SF E1L, pouch with pair of gloves and cpr shield, dell pda in rhino case, wallet, yaesu vx2, mace and set of remac protocols.

Hey Bagman, how do you like those tweezers? I was thinking of getting a pair....where did you get yours?
If you buy the tweezers from A.G. Russell (http://www.agrussell.com/knives/by_maker/a_through_d/a_g_russell_knives/tools/a_g_russell_field_tweezers.html), for every pair they sell, they'll send two pair to the troops.

Hi Stormdrane-
With the exception of the wristwatch and telephone is it possible to fit everything else in your photograph into the County Comm pocket organizer? That would be fantastic and has to make swapping between bags, cargo pants, and cargo shorts a breeze.

Yes, everything would fit in there as long as you don't mind it being thick and the weight of it. I wear BDUs all the time, so I keep things spread out among all the front and hip pockets.

Here's my EDC. The first picture shows how it looks when I grab it at the start of the day; just four items, and I like it this way. The second picture shows the items in more detail. Without listing the boring, common items like keys, ID cards, etc:
Fisher Space Pen Deluxe Wallet - found out about this here. Has Bullet pen in its own pocket. Very nice wallet.
Spare key holder - for my most common "emergency".
6 x strike anywhere matches - fit around the key in the key holder.
Victorinox Swisscard Lite - replaced tweezers (which the Juice Pro has) with toothpick. Has nice supplemental and backup/spare implements.
4 x 1/2" latex-free adhesive bandages.
4 x halves of 3" x 5" index cards. For taking notes; can also be used to measure as rule markings are 1/4" apart.
Motorola RAZR V3c cellular phone in silicone case.
Leatherman Juice Pro in leather clip-on sheath. IMO, the closest thing yet to the ideal EDC multi-tool.
Victorinox mini-screwdriver in Juice Pro corkscrew. Got the idea from another forum member. It fits, so what the hell?
Bison Designs Circle Key Caddie - Quality is a little lacking, but has a nice functionality of allowing individual ring detachment.
ARC AAA-P flashlight. Love this. Perfect EDC. Amazing output for its size. One of three I've purchased.
Sandisk Cruzer Titanuim 2 GB Flash Memory Drive - Used to carry files to / from work and to store reference information.
I have a ResQMe and a mini-Fox 40 that I also attach to the key caddie as necessary. I sometimes carry a Benchmade mini-RSK knife, but usually not because the blade length is restrictive.

EDC, depends on circumstances and bag/pack for the day:
http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/4981/img0798small6bm.jpg
From Left to Right:
SpecOps PackRat
(band-aids, safety pins, wire saw, foam ear plugs, eye drops, paper clips, County Comm dust mask, meds, Streamlight 1L, Glowring green,Brunton telescope/microscope, shoulder strap, padded handle, Leatherman Squirt, lighter, whistle, silicone ear plugs, small red bike flasher, 2xCR123, razor knife, 4 color pen, pencil, 512MB I-stick memkey, Belkin Quadra pen(pen, stylus, laser, white LED), 60GB Firelite harddrive, notepad, tissues, frenzel lens, 6x6" wire ties/tie wraps, 3x extra coin cell lights)
SpecOps Mini Cargo Pocket Organizer
(lighter, bright yellow bandana, meds, razor knife, Bic pen, 256MB IBM memkey, Arc AAA, Fox 40 mini whistle, Photon 3 red, Glowring green)
Neoprene sunglass case (modded)
(Fire~Fly II w/2 stage switch, 2xCR123, Leatherman Squirt, meds)
At least one of these is with me at all times when I'm out. I use them in various day/waist packs; several also have hydration. Their size makes it easy to move from one pack to another and still have what I need.

Here's my EDC setup;
http://www.xmission.com/~phatch/EDC.jpg
Starting on the left from top to bottom is the choice of knives:
AG Russell Featherlite with the "utility" blade shape.
Ritter Griptilian
Switchback
GAK
BM Opportunist for dress clothes carry
Modified SAK One Hand Trekker
Knives are always pocket carry. Usually just one, but sometimes two. Second is then Rittergrip. I've got a Hossom Retribution coming that may take that spot sometimes too.
In the red box is all the gear that fits in the tan pouch it all lays on.
The pouch is a Home Depot zipper pouch for tools.
Atwood prybaby
Leatherman S4 (scissors, tweezers)
Leatherman P4 (pliers, file, awl) these two tools together have the tool setup of big tools, but much smaller and lighter
AA alkaline batteries. These are emergency replacements for my lights, more about in a minute. In reality, these most often get given to friends and such when they failed to plan ahead.
A duct tape reinforced paper wallet folding info (http://www.xmission.com/~phatch/images/paperwallet.gif))
This contains twist ties, baby bottle liners, water purification tabs, bandages, moleskin, emergency info [Ritter's printouts (http://www.equipped.org/psp_survival_instructions_0206.pdf) and such) moleskin, and so on.
Strike anywhere matches, Various OTC pain meds
CMG Infinity Ultra. I keep this light for a long burning general light.
Surveyors cord. Not as good as paracord, but plenty strong for emergency and I can carry more in the same volume.
Duct tape roll,
Fox 40 micor
Spark light tinder
spark lite
Ferro striker
Sun Mini Comp II
Tech column:
Dell Axim X51v
Case with extended battery for axim and SD cards
Headphones (Sony)
Motorola cell phone
Middle center
credit card fine grit diamond hone
Fisher Telescoping pen
Fenix L1P for bright light
Two USB flash drives

This all fits in an eagle creek fanny pack. I used to use a smaller one, but the slightly bigger Axim threw my old system all out of whack. So I use this one shown at the REI link http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&productId=47833135&parent_category_rn=40003644&vcat=REI_SEARCH
I've got the black one. I trimmed off the handle. My keys live in the elasticized pocket and stay nice and quiet.
I've got plenty of room left over. I'd like something a bit smaller, but haven't found the perfect one.

My system is pretty modular so it's easy to slip the tan pouch into my outdoor gear and add another augmented kit to it, keeping the tan handy for most uses.

Phil,
You have a real nice setup. Thanks for the photo and the detailed explanation. I have a smaller tan zippered pouch from Home Depot and transfer it between various jackets, versipacks, and even a bicycle pack when I'm out riding. As you've found, moving the zippered pouch is easier than moving all the items individually.
I have larger Home Depot pouches, but this 4.5" by 6.5" pouch fits inside all my jackets and versipacks.

Xenon knock-off flashlight I'm using my budget for other things like Atwood gadgets
Eagle Creek passport organizer in the Max with ICE info some spare cash and phone card

I see so many guns in this topic, why is that?
Is the US so unsafe that it really is useful or what?
As someone from the Netherlands I find it pretty hard to believe that a place is so unsafe that you need to carry a gun every day... Besides that, I feel more safe without a gun around than with a gun.
Oh btw, I'll post some pics of my EDC in a couple of days ;)

This is where cultural and urban semmantics comes into play. For example I live about 5 miles from Camden City NJ(the ***hole of western civilization, and considered the most violent city in the US). Enough said about Camden. Spend 1hour there, if you lived that long, you'd want a CCW permit. ;)

It's not that the US is unsafe but it's a big place with lot's of places where you can become victimized if you are not careful. Police aren't always readily there to assist and there are many social predators among us.
I carry a gun with me daily but not neccessarily on me. Like any other tool, I want to have it should I need it and I have used it to diffuse more than one situation. I also live in a state (WA) that allows legal concealed carry.
If you feel safer without one, then by all means do so. Are you allowed private ownership of firearms in the Netherlands?
On a lighter note, I think a piece is nice eye candy in a photo too!

I think the old addage applies here....
"Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."
....as for us here in the UK, They took our handguns and now it looks they're trying to do the same with our knives.

If it's such a sh***y place, why don't you move then? I really don't want to live in a place like that, not by this description anyway...

Don't you think the whole US would be safer if there aren't any guns allowed? Or strict rules at least. I know it's a bit late to change it now; as it is not very probable that people hand in their firearms. And train more cops in stead of that?
It's a whole different culture though, most people in here (or Europe in general) highly dislike guns, and I think thats quite the opposite in the US.* We are allowed private ownership, but that has very strict rules, and to be honest; I don't know anyone who has real firearms. There are also rules for owning a CO2 gun.
To get a firearm, you should have a very good reason for it, for example private detective, and you should be member of a 'shooting club'.
There are more things illegal here by the way, such as stiletto's, two sided blades (with cutting edge on two sides), and also self defense items like pepperspray.
I think it would sound strange to you guys, but it really is save here. The times I felt unsave are countable on one hand (I'm 19years btw ;)). But I have to agree; this is a pretty small country, where police is 'always' nearby to 'save the day' ;)
I have to say, it's nice to have this discussion with someone who knows it first hand!

That's just the way it is here. Would no guns make a difference? Doesn't matter now, there's millions of them.
Think of gun ownership as a deterrent. Do you have a methamphetamine epidemic in the Netherlands?
Here in the Pacific Northwest it is a major problem and residential burglaries, ID theft and robbery are all too common. I'd much rather show an intruder to the door with a shotgun than a slipper or a golf club. Yes, people here get robbed on the street and carjacked in spite of Police, that's why they call them bad guys.
I don't want to rely on the Police saving the day when I need them right now, not 7 or 8 or even 30 minutes later. I could be real dead by then.
Firearms are part of culture here good or bad. This country was liberated by folks like you and me and it was gun ownership that made that possible, not confiscation. We also have a thing called the Constitution that gives us a right to own firearms which is being constantly challenged by those thinking we don't need them.
Yes, we are a different lot over here. We like big gas guzzling chrome bumpered SUV's and eat way too much steak and potatoes but I would not want to live anywhere else. I've travelled to Europe and Asia including the Netherlands and yes I did feel safe in all places (except for the backroads in the Philippines) but did notice a lot of Police running around in all of them. To be honest, it kind of creeped me out.
I was handed my first air gun at 12, a .22 rifle at 13 and have been a responsible gun owner since. My 10 year old is now starting to learn safety and responsibility as I see him mature. I will probably take him on his first shooting lesson this summer.
I think I've bent your ear long enough. I don't want this to be a firearms ownership debate after all this is an EDC forum.
Am looking forward to your EDC pics and hope we can continue to banter now and again.
BTW, I forgot to welcome you to the forum. I'm also fairly new here and it is a great place with lot's of fair minded folks.

For me, it's not just about need.* It's about exercising a right.* Besides, I happen to believe that our society is made safer by having more law-abiding citizens being armed.* It makes at least some of the bad guys think twice.* Given two victims, one possibly armed and the other known not to be, which is more likely to be targeted?
[I added a section here, then saw Jim's post, so I decided to move the new info to another post.* Thanks, Jim!]

I have yet to see a law passed in any country restricting firearm ownership that actually works.* That's like saying, after throwing one bucket of gas on a fire, "maybe this bucket of gas will put it out".* Criminals, by definition, don't follow the laws.* It doesn't matter how many different ones you have.
Plus, there is less chance of removing all small arms from society than there is in finding the fountain of youth.* I live in the real world, not eutopia, nice as that world might be.
I respect anyone who chooses not to own firearms.* Just don't ask me to give up my right to be able to defend myself.
As more and more US state have enacted concealed-carry laws, we haven't seen the use of legally-carried frearms in crimes increase. I think that speaks volumes. Criminals, as a whole, may not be smart, but most don't want to die, either.

You see so many guns in this "topic" because they are part of American EDC and this is one place that they are not censored.
I don't know about other countries but the US is a FREE one and we like guns, were are proud to be able to have them, carry them and show them off, so we do!
It is not so unsafe here, partially because we can have guns.
If you were a mugger would you rather work a town that had no guns or where many people carried them?
I look forward to your EDC pic.

Thanks for the great answers, I couldn't wish for any better :)
Now my response.
No, we don't have an methamphetamine epidemic in the Netherlands. But a lot of people forget we only tolerate soft drugs. You probably don't know what softdrugs are, since in most countries there is no difference between soft- and harddrugs. Softdrugs are drugs who aren't physical addictive, like weed, pot, some mushrooms and some xtc pills. I probably forget a few, but you'll get the picture. Harddrugs, like heroin, cocaine etc ARE illegal, so let that be clear :)
Next thing. You've probably only been in the big cities here in NL, like Amsterdam. Yes, there are a lot of tourists in Amsterdam, so a lot of cops. You know, tourism attracts pickpockets etc. Although when I compare Amsterdam to other major European cities like Paris or Antwerpen (don't know the English name for it ;)), Amsterdam has only very few officers. I live in a pretty small town (55.000 people here) about 25km from Amsterdam, and there are not much officers on the street here, nor in any other smaller cities.
Btw, I don't generalize people, so I really don't believe that all American citizens are hamburger eating, SUV driving rednecks ;)
I don't mind you having registered guns or something, because most people know when to use it, and use it only as a last resort. But I do believe, that because there are so many firearms, it's a hell of a lot easier to get one for lets say a gang member, than in countries where it isn't allowed. I understand that if you really are a criminal, you can always get a firearm, no matter where you are, but people are less tempted to get one when they aren't available in such a quantity.
Now for Codeman ;)
I know it's in your constitution (I know pretty much more about the US than the avarage EU citizen ;)), but to be honest, I don't find that a reason to carry one. I bet there are a lot of things in your constitution (or mine, for that matter) which you or I won't use.
Again, thanks for sharing your great information and experiences. I'm looking forward to spend more time here on this forum, since I've had such a warm welcome from everyone here :)
Oh, I see there is a new reply :P
Well copykat, the Netherlands is a free country too, I think in many ways more free than the US. I've read an article about 'spying' (recording phone converstations etc) on every US citizen, well I don't call that free, I call that a police state.

In the US what ever thug that has his eyes on you is likely to have a gun. I cant say for sure how many crimes involve guns but a bunch do.
The thing is the guns that thugs have are most of the time illegally possessed.
thats all. I'll get my EDC pic up eventually.
